Forget stats. If Mourinho has picked out a gettable player who wants to come in a desperately needed position, we should 100% do everything we can to bring him in.

JM has worked with quite a few of the very best DM's the world has seen. I think that is enough reason to trust his judgement if this is who he wants. Especially when it's not going to be breaking the bank to do so.
But is it who he wants?

I can do a deal for Charlie Adam?

Lot of talking about his passing. Scott Parker never did more than 3 yard pass. And I think no one would complain about having Scotty back.

Scotty was a last action hero. The guy would tackle with his face. His actual face. Gods know how he's still a dashing chap - he should look like Mike Tyndall.

There's a huge reason why he's adored despite having been a Charlton, Fulham and West Ham player twice as long as he was with us.

I was also thinking, going back to Jose knowing a thing or two about signing DM's; another non typical destroyer type which Jose had was Khedira who you could argue was in a similar mould to Hojbjerg

Just the type of player we need and one which doesn’t really effect the balance sheet if KWP is going the other way. Positive if we are getting things done at the start of the window for a change. Will be great to have a proper ball winner back in the side, as we haven’t really had that since Wanyama/Dembele.

Hope we can get a buy back option in any deal for KWP - just in case.

I think that's doubtful unless it's the right of first refusal or something of the sort. "Levy gonna Levy" and all, but the wise choice would be to make this as sweet a deal as possible to land PEH and avoid Sell-On %'s and pre-established buyback options.

First refusal would work for me.

It's really starting to sound like we're not going to be paying too much on top of this swap which is great.
Yeah. So'ton's initial valuation of £35m was way OTT, while KWP's value seems to be going up with each passing week.

I would guess we'll meet somewhere in the middle and pay something like 5-10 million on top of KWP.

I doubt this transfer for one reason. Lyall was the first to report on it, back in January.

Going to be a great signing that’s one weak area getting addressed onto right back now

On a side tangent, this is exactly why we shouldn't sell Foyth and instead loan him out. Best case scenario you get him some experience and he starts to get where he needs to be, worst case scenario he doesn't quite do it but is good enough to add some value. Selling players before you give them the chance to add some value is dumb imo.

I think Dave Hytner was the first journalist saying that we want Gedson Fernandes
Every journalist gets things wrong - there is no full proof journo - but as track records go Hytner is one of the best. If he says it I rate it pretty highly.
