Even if the stories are true that Arsenal have agreed a deal, if we agreed a deal too I’d be shocked if he picked them over us.

Absolutely mental that we are even in contention for a player considered world class considering where we were when Liverpool thumped us when AVB was in charge.

The Arsenal links don't make a whole lot of sense to me. With the two strikers, Pepe, Ceballos, Ozil, Mykitaryan, Iwobi and all their youngsters, Coutinho just seems needless and excessive. Add the Poch/Espanol factor and Champions League...surely he picks us.

Would you change your view if we end up with Dybala, GLC, Sess and Ndombele?

While they get Coutinho and Cellballos? Not including Saliba as he is on loan.

Maybe, but they also signed Pepe unless I’m mistaken. And we’re losing Eriksen, probably to Utd.

I don’t want to strengthen our direct rivals ( Utd) and I don’t want those fuckers down the road to sign any more top players. Not least one’s we’re actively trying to sign ourselves.

If Coutinho is indeed £10-15m and Poch wants to work with him, it does seem a bit of a no brainer, assuming the option is there to make permanent if it went well.

If we can add him to 1 (or super optimistically 2) of the other attackers linked we really would have the squad to go hard on all fronts. I'd really fancy us to pick up a cup.

That's what they say too, they assume it means ozil is off

Yes sorry, I forgot about Pepe.

Eriksen left us in spirit last season.

Their defence is still a shambles.

Anyway, I will keep this on topic.

Yep, they need to focus on replacing Koscielny (with a CB who isn't loaned back for the season).

I really do hope we have a future fee for him as he's a class player. I think the fee for him from Liverpool was £102 mil with around £40mil in add on clauses and potential resell. Perhaps we're loaning as these may expire next season? One of them was very likely around £20 mil for appearances and another was around £5 mil for CL qualification/winning?

Wouldn't surprise me. Gets around that and also means they can offset the sale proceeds when they are expecting to pay for Neymar (suggestion is they are working on a year loan for FFP reasons).

I can imagine Levy would encourage a loan deal with no option or first refusal to cover us if he does well. That said if it is just £10-15m one off payment for a year and Poch wants it I suppose he could concede.

Very true coutinho and I'll say this quietly because of the Woolwich links but he's a game changer

This is rewriting history a bit. We finished above Liverpool in 5 of the 6 seasons he was at the club. He isn’t some crazy talent we couldn’t have previously dreamed of.
