Maybe the MD didn't have anything to do with it seeing as he has been in talks with Fonseca this week(supposedly). It wouldn't surprise me that Levy intervened himself contradicting what he has said about the control of Paratici. However it's all hearsay and none of us know the real facts so we shall just have to wait and see. I'm just spouting out my own conspiracy theories only because I find the whole manager situation farcical and hard to comprehend.

I hear you but if the press is to be believed, Gattuso was always the one the MD wanted after the Conte deal fell through, so chose to jump at the chance once he became available. Fonsesco was always plan B. The MD even wanted him at Juventus but again he was not available. This could also be a load of bollocks as well!

If this is true then I’d be surprised if another manager would want to come anywhere near us.

If we'd got that £150m+ offer, then I thought we should have sold - upgrade near every position by £15m, and get 7/10 performances (instead of 5/10), consistently out of everyone.

But now I've totally lost trust in Levy, and this new director of chaos.

I used the words overall....its a shame really LEVY / ENIC failed to invest on the squad and back up on the qualities we had under Poch.

I found it telling in Levy latest interview he mentioned money was made available to buy players that weren't taken up by a certain manager, you can clearly see why that was the case looking at the shambolic excuses used not to get the main managers.

I don't think many in Football trusted Levy before but now they will be even more wary of dealing with him. It seems Fonseca was nailed on but Levy shook his hand with one and knifed him in the back with the other when Gattuso became available. Could see Paratici pulling out now. Not at all surprised that all those others mentioned a few weeks ago turned us down, we are a joke.
I wasn't particularly enamoured about Fonseca's appointment but had come round to the idea it might work out and at least we could now start to put things together. Now it's back to that insecure feeling of where the coming season will leave us.
There is obviously this underlying problem of no money to spend and now I'm beginning to wonder that even if Kane is sold and others that we wont get much of it if any to strengthen the squad.

The change of tack is plainly Paratici's work, not Levy's. That much is clear, even if nothing else is.

Levy is not the man with contacts in Serie A, Paratici is. If we switch our attentions from one manager in Italy to another, that's obviously based on Paratici's advice.

Only just read what AG said now and I have to say that this is utterly incompetent from Paratici. This is highly worrying and between him and Levy they have royally screwed up this task, which was actually not as complicated as it needed to be.

Nagelsmann, Rodgers, Ten Hag, Potter, Lopetegui. That needed to be the list (in fact I think it was Hitchen's)

I appreciate that we missed out on some and others were just not attainable but to have become so far removed from this list and ended up with coaches who had no right to be considered for the list and we are STILL faffing about with them is just mind boggling.

Anyone of us idiots on here would have made a decision and seen it through. We probably can't even go back to Ten Hag now and Brighton would likely laugh in our faces. Lopetegui would want nothing to do with it.
