I'm hoping if Ally Gold is saying we're interested, then hopefully we've gone under the radar long enough to put in some decent groundwork in talks. Here's hoping!

Kane holding up the ball and knocking into space for him to run on to would be a lovely sight

Was praying he is the mystery striker ITK has been referring too. By far the best striker we've been linked to.

He’s fast as fuck and an absolute baller. Check out his performance vs Liverpool a few weeks ago.

Attacking structure is similar to what mourinho trying to do at spurs

Can’t see them selling Brewster (20y/o), HG with international honours for the same price they would sign a potential AFCON attendee who’s playing in a below par league.

Mane, Salah, Baka to all miss large parts of the season due to AFCON. (Not to mention Keita and Matip).
Yep, they’ve not been able to put in an offer for Thiago who’s been on a plate for them all summer as well. Don’t see how they’d be able to move for Daka without some significant sales.

He is also apparently a Liverpool fan. A Liverpool fan I know seems to think they need to shift some squad players before they spend any major money. Apparently paid out a lot on contract renewals, agent fees, bonuses etc and treading carefully in the current climate.

they also want Thiago as there number 1 target and can barely stump up the cash for him right now

Think they may well be tempted to sell Brewster if the money is right (£20m region). Apparently they rate his goal scoring ability, awareness in the box etc but have a few concerns around whether his all round game is going to cut it, especially under Klopp's high intensity style of play.

Yeah his pace is real. I have almost never seen VVD look that slow in comparison, even if it is pre-season. Like I said in the Milik thread it's about style: he's nowhere near the technical player that Kane/Son are but he has real attacking intent and I think he improves with every match he plays. The finishing and nose for goal are something you'll never be able to teach either. Love this kid and I think he could be huge for us.

It's numbers and cash I think. They already have 7 players for the 3 midfield spots, hence the rumours of selling Wijnaldum to Barca.

I feel like there are actually a few decent options for us out there on the striker front.

Daka would be a great signing, as would Edouard, Malen (PSV) or even Leao (Milan) - just hope we pay up for someone who could improve us rather than fill a gap.

Firmino has been hot and cold for a while now and Liverpool desperately needs a number 9. This guy could easily slot in any of the front 3 positions for them.

He has as much of a chance playing for Liverpool as he does for us. Don't forget we have Son, Kane and Moura. Who are all basically guaranteed starters under Mourinho. This isn't even taking into account Bergwijn and Lamela.
I agree with that but I think Liverpool have a bit of a problem here.

They've been wanted Thiago for sometime and it seems like a fairly straight forward deal as Bayern seemingly only want 30m. Yet they aren't getting it done.

With their supposed interest in Daka and what I said above, I had a look at their squad.

They currently have 19 non HG players on their books. Obviously they are probably looking to sell Origi, Shaqiri, Karius, Grujic and maybe Wijnaldum will leave but if its true they are having issues with agent fees per what @Joely said, I wouldn't be surprised if they are a little blocked at the moment.

Liverpool, in previous seasons, were very very proactive but this summer they seem to be taking their time and their priority does seem to be Thiago if they do shift players out the door.

Still, if they could spend in him because they really wanted him, then certainly we may have a problem

Interesting. I’m not convinced. We all know the difficulties with managing the HG quota as well as the risk of selling a player with a high potential ceiling to soon.

There’s also the issue of Daka “settling” in and adjusting to a new country / league.

For this reason I can’t see Liverpool being one of our major competitors. Could also just be wishful thinking on my part!
