cant believe how much some of you watch roma, i could barely watch spurs with jose in charge let alone watching his matches for another club
My flat mate is from Rome and is a big roma fan, so I have to watch their games

Dybala turned down Napoli partially over image rights issues.
Thanks for the info, that kills the why Zaniolo & not Dybala debate , Dybala image rights are a major no no..
Personally would just go with AC & FP on who they want at the club.

Based purely on stats and the two ACL injuries, can't say I'm particularly enthused by this one. Think I've only seen him play two or three times though so I'm ready to be proved wrong.

If it solves the Ndombele problem and gives us a potentially valuable alternative, then we should all be thanking our lucky stars. Makes sense to me with the previous itk about a signing we would be happy with. Could almost be as much about who we get out as much as it is who we get in.

Add in what the previous poster was wondering about him being cover for Kulu, Moura to rwb cover and Maddison being the AM, well that’s a very interesting and potentially exciting way of looking at things.

I've seen him a few times and he's never stood out for me.

Our squad badly needs a Maddison type player not a Zaniolo. To go from potentially Maddison to Zaniolo is incredibly underwhelming it has to be said.

Our window was going really well, but with Lenglet in as the only CB so far and if Zaniolo ends up being the much heralded AM signing, then that is really disappointing. Of course if we were to still sign a CB and AM on top of those two then it's fine, but that would be venturing well into the realms of implausible. If Conte wants Zaniolo then that is who he wants, but I just think he has flop written all over him.
Completely agree with this. I've always seen him to be a bit like Dele, with the runs into the box etc., but not much in the way of creativity/passing, which is what I think we really need. Once again questioning why we're not looking at Fabian Ruiz from Napoli, but anyway

Completely agree with you. Why would we buy a severely injury prone Moura?

So, I think there's a difference between expressing concern about a signing and then if we do end up signing them, basically being blinded by that initial view just to try not to be seen as wrong. Am I super enthused about Zaniolo? Nah, probably not. Am I willing to give him a chance should we bring him in? Absolutely. Do I hope I'm wrong, that his ACLs hold, he turns a corner in his development and he can become a beast for us? You bet, and happily.

Really don't know why others can't be as good of a supporter as I am.

Is he surplus to requirements now that Dybala has gone to Roma? Maybe this is how Roma plan to finance the Dybala deal( yes I know he’s a free transfer)

Yeah he has some bad injuries, but when I have seen him play I have always been impressed. And frankly, I don't listen to any of you lot as you didn't think Kulusevski would be any good. So belt up.

He’s about a foot taller than Moura for a start ? he’s also left footed and last season he only missed 4 games in Serie A through injury, can play ACM,CAM,RW not just RW, is 23 not nearly 30 but yea other than that you’re bang on ;)

I wouldn't be against this. We could do better definitely. But if Conte approves and likes him, I'd be happy to see what he can do with him.

Players under Jose aren't a good bar to judge them with. Look at our lot under Jose and look at them under Conte. I'm willing to see what Conte can do with Zaniolo. He could essentially bring out that hidden talent he had when he broke through. Just like Deki. He could be another beast ready to be woken up.

To those who keep speaking about ACL Injuries. It's actually not such a big worry. If anything his knees will actually be alot stronger than people think.

At one point this kid was the future of Italian football (if I remember correctly); yes, he has had serious injuries, but he can’t have become Sissoko/Mouraesque surely?

by that I mean, his only strength is his dribbling, barely has effective out put, and is well known for dribbling down blind alleys.... but yeah be pedantic. Just because he can play those positions doesn't mean he is effective there.

It’s not his talent that’s the issues it’s his injuries. It’s not as if he’s at risk of getting niggling knocks and missing a few games here and there. He’s had 2 major injuries and at a heightened risk of it happening again, in which case he would be out for a season plus… and if we pay actual money for him he would be worthless.

Zaniolo is Lamela mark 2… with the exception Lamela was a wonderful person and worked his socks off. We couldn’t however rely on Lamela due to his injuries and we certainly can’t rely on Zaniolo.

I take your point, I don't agree. But in reality, it means bollocks as the people that need to be clued up are and want him. So I'm in.
