Can't claim to watch much Serie A, but I've listened to some experts on Italian football say that they think he's really had to adapt his body and style of play over the past year due to his injuries and isn't the same type of player he was when he broke through.

Not sure if he's quite the same exciting prospect he was a few years ago and I think it would be a very expensive punt that we should avoid.

Give me Raphinha over this guy if thats the choice.
I can’t see it as being that, would make no sense from a skill set point of view. Honestly feel the point we could have got him was in Jan before we got Kulu. Maybe he’s considered a Eriksen alternative, but even then I’m not sure I see it. Only way he makes sense is on the cheap as a bonus addition.

Don’t get the hype. He’s not technical and looks like Sissoko trying to dribble in the 10. Low whoscored rating. Every year we are linked with this guy I cringe and pray we don’t sign him. We’d go backwards 9 years if he comes. Lamela mk II.

In three years time, if he’s at spurs and dividing the fan base I’ll be so disappointed.

Potentially he could be the best Italian play of his generation. If your talking about raw potential, his footballing ability and reading of the game is incredible.
Hell yes, I'm all in now.
He's awful. Watched a lot of Roma last year and Zaniolo was given a huge role and responsibility in the team. He just didn't deliver.
OK I'm out.

He does have a lot of potential and before his injuries he really was going only one direction. It’s worth noting that AC Milan, Juve and especially Paratici really like him for a reason. Jose is completely the wrong manager for him and won’t help him develop at all as well as his tactics don’t suit him one bit. Any team buying him would be doing it because of his untapped potential rather then for what he offers now. It’s just a big question of IF he will be able to get back to the player he was pre injury.

Not too excited for this one. Feels like an Ndombele situation where you know he has world class raw talent but cannot be a dependable figure. But if Conte thinks he can depend on him, let it be.

He is a supreme athlete but not anywhere near the player we need him to be right now. Still young, plays like it, doesn't actually score or assist much, seems a half a second late in decision making.

In addition it's a poor move for him personally - being a rotation option in the PL sounds like the worst possible development plan.

Wrong fit for many reasons.

Maybe worth a year loan with option to buy?

Just read how fucked his knees are. Amazing he’s still playing the game let alone able to train. Big fat no thanks from me on that basis unless it’s a year on loan. But if we do that why not just get eriksen in instead?

Would make sense on a loan to option. This guy comes with a higher ceiling than any midfielder we have at present can cover Rw, Am, CM and FW. Would mostly mean that raphina is off and we’d get Richarlison who can play off the left. Worth a punt. IMO.

Seems to be very well thought of in Italy, but appears underwhelming to watch.
(Sounds like kulusevski)
can understand the comparisons to Lamela at first glance as he appears to be an instinctive player.
It feels like he’d be signed to play in the rwf role in rotation with kulusevski. Do you think he could play in a 2 alongside Kane or son?
Also, if we are looking at one player from the list, where does he rank n comparison to:
Lucas paqueta
Raphinha

He's awful. Watched a lot of Roma last year and Zaniolo was given a huge role and responsibility in the team. He just didn't deliver. Jose even played him as a secondary striker and changed shape just to get him in and he didn't repay his faith. Wasteful with the ball. Doesn't naturally have an eye for goal. Spends half his time on the floor, arms in the air, appealing for a foul.

Literally, lamela mk II minus the effort and desire.

Pass.
All in a Mourinho side. We know how that looks.

I trust Paratici.
