Watching Kulusevski today reminded me why I’m against this transfer. Close to £50m for a guy who just isn’t as good as Kulu. Can you think of a single match situation where you’d rather have him on the pitch than Deki? It just feels off.

Whilst I know what you mean, this would be akin to saying we don’t need Richarlison as we have Kane. If Kulusevski is tired/out of form/injured/suspended/up against a direct opponent who has him figured out, then we can bring Zaniolo into the game and let him see if his more direct, powerful approach works. Conte clearly sees something in him that he feels is worth £50M and he is in a position to be fully backed. A loan with an option would obviously be ideal, and maybe we can sweeten that by doing similar with Ndombele or another of our misfits going the other way.

indeed, but would he change Son or Kane today even if we had good players on the bench, like a Zaniolo? This is what i want, it is good with squad depth, but it must be of quality that you with confident can take of Son or Kane when they do not perform like today.

yes they are two of the best players in the league, but they still need to feel the push when they drop.

Yes he’d bring on Richarlison and Zaniolo for Kane and Son if needed and the quality wouldn’t drop too much, that is what conte wants.

Conte again saying in this league we/he needs a squad full of players with quality who are physical and good runners. Makes sense why we are after Zaniolo as he’s a big physical guy but also a good ball carrier/dribbler and works hard.

I read somewhere that one person who has monitored Zaniola also feels he’d do a great job at centre forward as has the qualities - shame I can’t remember where read as would have linked it.

So imagine having that flexibility with both him and Richarlison being able to cover a couple of roles upmtop!

I said similar earlier in the thread that he should be playing upfront. Doubt your thinking about me saying it though as I've only watched his games against Leicester and Inter but he's wasted on the wing. For his speed size and strength he's a forward

I watched a couple of games of him against Leicester and Inter but briefly against Inter, he loses possession quite a bit but normally due to the fact he's marked by 2-3 players but one on one which he didn't get many or no opportunities I think he could be very dangerous due to how Very quick, very strong, good control and touch for a big man he has. He was pretty quiet in the 2 semis against Leicester but JM was equally as non-existent - JM didn't really step up in those games. Just wasn't a meaningful contributor, compared to Pellegrini who was much better and more involved, that's a player. Pretty disappointed watching JM in those semis I really like still think he's a good player but was no where near what you would expect from a top player in such big games.

For me NZ should be playing up front he does take up central positions but it was mixed bag positionally, he was neither on the wing or in the middle but because of his strength, power and speed, he should be central. He's wasted on the wing. Just my non-expert opinion

Quite frankly ill happily let the two vastly over qualified blokes in Conte and Paratici go and get whoever they desire after the way Kulusevski and Bentancur come in and transformed our entire season. Full faith and fully on board the Conte express.

Nah mate not quite. Fortunately though I was born long enough ago that we could appreciate what a player did without having to look up how good he is based on how fast he can run a computer game.

And I’m saying Zaniolo isn’t who you think he is. I’m really just trying to temper expectations here, Roma are asking a ridiculous fee with €50m and we have somehow convinced ourselves that being totally ripped off for a player like Zaniolo is a good idea. Do we like subsidizing Jose?

Give me a lower fee and the conversation changes.

Crazy to me that people who have not watched him more than a handful of times are adamant he’s not good but a top 3 manager on the planet wants him desperately. I’ve watched him play once but conte wanting him over multiple quality options with a large budget is all the convincing I need

Will be interesting if it’s a purchase or a loan with option/obligation style deal similar to Kulu etc.
