Newcastle, Why Sunday?

A member of the Tottenham Trust contacted the club to ask this question and they are as baffled as we are. There's no UEFA games the week before and the FA Cup semi finals are the following weekend but it wouldn't have been down to that anyway.

Maybe Sky knows the answer?

Just received this from Paul Barber as way of an explanation.

"Dear Darren

We sometimes try to secure an extra day's recovery time when our players have been on international duty. Not all teams agree, but Newcastle did.

Regards, Paul"

it's cos of the cold weather see. It'll prevent those crazy geordie fans taking their tops off and revealing their hgue bellies, thinking it makes em the best in the world.

Hardly any of the barcode fans expected to travel to the game have a job, so there's no need for them to be back in time for work on a monday morning so the game can take place on any day of the week for all they care.

makes sense, its annoying though as I wouldn't have minded going to that game, but getting down to London and back in the same day is a bit of a fuck around.

Newcastle agreed to this as it will give them an optunity to look at what they will need to do as they are in relgation battle.

ie if teams around them win they will go for the win, if they lose theycan play 5 in the middle and try and nick a draw..

Im surprised we're allowed to do it in that case. But I guess games are moved all the time for TV anyway...

Do some of you guys really believe Geordies have jobs? :duh:

assuming the reason is to give our players more time to recover from the internationals, it's a good move by spurs, and should make for a better game
