I can guarantee this is not the case in this scenarioAlso, and I say again only as an amateur onlooker, in my experience of being caught up with building disruption/delays it wont have been the club aware of this for ages and keeping everyone in the dark. My experiences are that the builders/Project management tell you things are on target (or even that things behind schedule can be caught up and achieved) right up to the very last second until everything changes and then the 'truth' comes out. The club will have been taking direction from them at all times.

As the City game can’t be moved to Wembley for that weekend (NFL taking place there) then if the new stadium isn’t ready for that the club are in serious trouble with the Premier League. I’d imagine we’re hoping the game can be switched to Manchester but that can then impact on Utd’s fixture as they can’t both play at home on the same day.
It’s not out of the question that we’re getting sanctions from the Premier League for this mess as we might not be able to fulfill that fixture for that weekend. As for what UEFA think about it all...
It’s a mess.
Now THAT is a perfectly acceptable reason not to open the ground on time.Thought has just occurred to me, haven't they installed a microbrewery in the new ground? And it won't be able to serve beer on the planned opening date? You can see where I'm going with this can't you?
More than patient? The club have tried to build a brand new stadium in less than 2 years. We've had ONE whole season away from our own stadium. Listen, I understand why people are upset but you pay for season tickets up front and the terms & conditions are there to warn you about possible change.
Equally this has been discovered today around safety issues and club have communicated immediately.
I know I'll get hammered by most of you but surely there were always going to be risks and difficulties with such an ambitious project. You'll have to wait a month or two longer but you pay to watch your team play. Granted some more games will now be at Wembley but still, i just feel like some are acting like the club are doing this on purpose just for The fun of it.
Thanks, as long as it's not a major structural faultFire alarms. emergency lighting. fire suppression system (sprinklers). Possibly public address systems
The club (excluding the players) are letting the fans down at the moment.
Funny thing is, there is zero chance the club would have said something until Friday afternoon at the earliest about this if Neil Ashton didnt break it today.
No, if im brutally honest.Anyone else thinking January transfer window, Statement signing for the first game at the new stadium if all the rumours about not being ready till December have any truth in them?
Not true I’m afraidYes, but he knew fuck-all. I don't even know who he is. He knew fuck-all.
Levy didn't know, because he couldn't know: he has only his professional consultants' word to rely upon. Mace didn't know, because it's industry culture to promote unrealistic optimism to the client! They're the ones who will take the hit for this.
It sounds from the nature of the announcements that it isn't general lateness - there's been a specific, critical-path issue that needs to be signed off before the stadium can be used and has either failed its tests or not been constructed correctly.
This is development. It's how it goes. You don't know until you get to this point.
Yes I'm sure this is all part of a greater plan to unveil one signing. Let's piss off all our overcharged ST holders and the hundred's of thousands of people completely fucked from all over the world, to unveil Grealish at HT at the new stadium.Anyone else thinking January transfer window, Statement signing for the first game at the new stadium if all the rumours about not being ready till December have any truth in them?

PL clubs had to ratify it and vote as a majorityI thought PL rules prohibit home fixtures being played at different venues in the same season? When we wanted to play at Milton Keynes and Wembley in the same season it wasn't allowed. Why would clubs let us start at Wembley and then switch to the new WHL. Doesn't seem fair?
