Cheers Adam. I can see how that works I just can't see how losing just a corner of the stand will make such a big difference to the new development that the club are willing to cut capacity for a season rather than wait until we move out?If you check any of the overhead pictures from the last 20 pages (e.g. the one on SpursIdol's post on this page) it is fairly intuitive that around half of the main structure can be completed without demolishing any of the current stadium but the first existing stand 'in the way' is the Paxton

The brief answer is that the new South stand will be the retractable pitch end and therefore is essentially a "standalone" part of the of the stadium. By knocking down the NE corner of current stadium it then allows us to build everything apart from the South stand (at least at the foundation / structural level). That then gives us one full season to knock down the whole of WHL and finfish the whole site build.
Got it, thank you. With this and @Adam456's reply it all starts to makes sense!
Anyway, apparently there was a game on last night

I agree, but it would be much more fun if we were causing the delayThe article says that we are causing the delay to Chelsea because they don't want to share. In reality, and based on our experience, it always seemed optimistic to suggest they would be so far along to want Wembley at the same time we do.
