I'd be amazed if we're only out for 1 season. The schedule's so tight any small delay will be enough to run us over the deadline, and with a project of this size the likelihood of encountering no delays seems very small indeed.

Even without this stadium, I think Tottenham is changing anyway. Sometimes I don't recognise it, when I go into a coffee shop etc. The money in the city is moving in simply because outside of the high road and estates, Tottenham actually has really good housing stock, combine that with the River Lea, and good access to the city. Being priced out of Islington and Hackney people are moving to Tottenham instead, and finding it ain't actually all that bad.

My foster brother was having a convo with his boss (who earns just shy of a 100k a year) about where he was looking at buying a house. Tottenham was one of his choices. As everywhere else is to expensive apparently. My brother couldn't believe it, but that is what is happening.

Obviously this then raises points about local being priced out, new money coming in and gentrification etc. I could write an essay on it so I won't on here.

Really interesting post, and one that I can relate to.

I live near Washington, DC, and the same kinds of things have been happening throughout the city for the last 15-20 years (if not longer). A lot of young folks are moving into/staying in t he city, and in so doing, they've generally looked to buy in locations that were once considered less-than-desirable places to live. But as more and more of those people with decent incomes move into those locations, the gentrification is all but complete (an argument for or against such changes can be made elsewhere). In any case, there have been a ton of changes in the city since I first moved here 18 years ago, and many places are unrecognizable now - where once were broken down homes and empty lots, there are condos, stores, and parks. Fewer peddlers and prostitutes, and more cafes and restaurants.

In one of these formerly downtrodden areas, the Washington Nationals baseball team built a shiny new stadium. It's amazing the transformation that's happened since that stadium went up. And now DC United will be building nearby, so the whole area has received yet another boost, and there are young professionals living all around it.

I hope Tottenham sees similar benefits from the new stadium and the coinciding revitalization plan. I've only been there once, but it reminded me a lot of some of the once-vibrant city neighborhoods in the US that have since gone downhill. I also hope that the people currently living there can reap the benefits of such neighborhood revival without also being pushed out. It may not be possible on the whole, but one can hope.

@NewSpursStadium A good comparison of where we are now and where we expect to be in around 10 months time.

Never mind the Paxton roof, I'm not sure that new colour scheme for Lillywhite House is going to go down well with fans...

This excites me, in a tingly way. Like, not full on excited but a wee bit - it's something i can imagine in my head now and it looks quite amazing.

I imagine it's been answered elsewhere, but how much of the new stadium is being prefabricated off site and bought in? Do they do the seating in sections and load them in by crane, or are their wizards involved?

Oh, and anyone coming along the A406 at any point in the next few months, as the road goes over the train lines at Tesco's, the view of the cranes all up looks brilliant, but seeing the chunk missing with my own eyes was tougher than i realised it would be. :(

Indeed, it's getting more and more tangible.

There will be pre-fabircated concrete blocks of the seating areas brought in and clicked into the structure Lego-stlye. Somone on SSC said it would happen this way, I believe.

Looking at the proposed Sky lounge, if we can manage one in the roof, why can't we have now going round the entire roof. Must have a great view, perfect for corporates.

I'm guessing weight would be a massive factor.

Shame there isn't a webcam looking out from the North stand, that top picture shows quite a lot of depth to the site that isn't apparent from looking out from lily-white house.

End of July and still no upgraded webcams despite the build starting to go vertical and the NE corner of WHL demolished.

Weren't we promised new webcams end of May at the Supporters' Trust end of season meeting? But we're still looking at a grainy picture which seems to freeze for hours on end nearly every day now.

Apparently they've had problems installing new live cameras. Even then, supposedly they won't be adding new cameras to see the site from different positions, which is ridiculous. It really is poor,

The sky lounges aren't in the roof and the roof would never support a structure without a big redesign

Apologies I meant the boxes/seating which is located on the west and east stand

There is no north stand based seated sky lounge

Its weird on my drawings the sky lounge walkway is shaded grey and not purple, with the key saying that the plant/riser with the back of house being able to access that area and not the punters
