Saw this floating around, I actually think it looks alright but still think the line the across the chest the template gives is so unnecessary.

Agreed on the arch across the chest. Noticed that the Barca kits this year have it as well (also has the penguin neck like our aways).

Makes me wonder if it's some sustainability thing where they're piecing together old/unused textile and that was the best way to make it work.

Yeah like Barca's I don't think it looks so bad when it's separated by 2 different colours, although on certain other ones that line doesn't look near as pronounced as it does on ours. Not sure if it's due to the lines looking like a bolder white colour on ours or if it's the non-elite version that has it looking as such but it seems to stand out more than on other shirts I've seen with it. Can barely see it here on the Liverpool one for instance:

Have dug out the Corinthians one though which is more like ours and I guess it will look similar to that. Maybe it will just look better when it's being worn!

I am so Goddamn sick and tired of seeing people do BEAUTIFUL mock-up kits- gorgeous ones that I would buy in a New York second. And before Sandro Clegane comes on and says "Oh- there goes TwanYid complaing about kits again" I have a few things to say:
1) I LOVE this season's home kit: perfect except for the red AIA- not Nike's fault- LOVE the kit though- and bought it. Hate the "psychedelic"-kit from this season but "get" that it has an appeal- that there's something about it. Hate the 3rd kit this year because it's ugly. Period.
2) Abhorred the home ("shoulder pad") strip last season, but LOVED the yellow kit AND the green kit last season.
3) LOVED the home kit from 2018-19, didn't like the away "two-piece" away strip which was beautiful on the bottom and stupid-looking on top, and didn't like the light blue 3rd because i don't like us in light blue.

There: a lot of "love" for some of our kits, along with some hate for others. I don't "hate every kit" or whatever. THAT SAID: look at this mock up: a shirt SO beautiful it's insane:

...and yet Nike make kits like next season's scuba suit away shirt- literally one of the ugliest kits I have ever seen. Nothing "about" it, no appeal- just straight-up horrendous.

Who on earth "Ok's" this shit? What is the thinking behind it? It absolutely boggles my fucking mind.

Agreed. I also wonder if the club have any day in it because surely if the ones proposed are the best from a few options, what they he’ll do the others look like?!?!?!

I think the club had more say when we had kit makers like under armour who would make kits for us.

With Nike, we will have less influence on what the kit will look like as they seem to just produce templates and change colours for each team.

Preferred under armour. Surely though even with a template you can say those colours together look hideous.

I would hope so, or we set them colours to use.
They might have more freedom on the 3rd kit though.

Quite simple, no sponsor is going to OK a shirt you can't make out their logo's on, they spend thousands to millions on a logo that stands out in a crowded market space for their brand, they don't start out thinking oh yeah well we want a simple logo but we won't colour it red because one day we might put on a football shirt who's rivals happen to play in red!

That^ shirt may look great on a computer monitor/phone as a still image but on a moving footballer on a cathode tube screen & not in UHD, it's going to get a big fat no, there's a reason the last one we had similar to that^ had luminous yellow badging!

Then you get into actual physical sales of the things, the club have access to far greater analytics than we do, if they're finding that mad acid trip shirt designs are outselling the usual bog standard white home shirt amongst key demographics be them age groups or countries that prefer certain colours, guess where they're going to steer their suggestions? TwanYid and others on some (no offence @A&C) loony bin Internet forum in the UK or data driven programme and designers saying what the predicted trends are?

Then the last 2 or 3 green shirts we've had that were roundly slated for example turn out to be either actual pretty nice to look at & or quite a lucky charm (and I hate green football kits)

I hated the 3rd kit last season and we hardly used it, I wasn't mad keen on the black one and we either hardly used it or it actually looked better on the players or fans I saw in it (women & kids especially) which brings me on to another point, if you want to attract new fans to the all inclusive game you need "something" everyone else isn't doing, if you want to hook them whilst they're young, a snazzy shirt combined with something to cheer about does wonders.
I loved the lily white Holsten kits as a kid that together with memories of FA cup games in those shirts and my dad pulled me into supporting Spurs for 40 odd painful years (remembering I grew up with only 3 to become 4 TV channels and crap highlights shows not 24/7 365 wall-wall catch up on demand football like today)
but I did get given a 'pool shirt with Candy on it because a grandparent saw it and thought I'd like it and it stood out to them enough to buy it as a present (not being football followers themselves)

Also if they did use that^ shirt they'd probably get labelled as "lazy" or money grabbing...

Puma did the best shirts after Adidas.

The Puma shirts are probably my least favourite since Adidas to be honest. They did some alright ones like the chocolate brown one and some of the home shirts, but also some pretty horrible ones and produced arguably our worst home shirt ever with that piss stained one, at least to me. Only don't despise it even more because of what we achieved that season.

I have a few still and the fit of them is terrible on me, like bloody bin bags.

UA for me and was made better by the fact we were the only Prem team with them.

Yeah and their training gear was fantastic too. Have a few of them that I like more than the match shirts.

Another look at the shirt on sale at a store:
