It would be incredibly stupid to make that sort of information known to broadcasters as that would mean also making it known to the opposition.

As the article says everyone would have to adopt the technology and it could revolutionise tactics and training. Personally i hope we have it to ourselves for a few years first so that we can utilise the information to potentially improve player fitness and awareness of their own condition. Once all teams are using it then there is no clear advantage to any team over another, you will just be able to tell when best to replace a player and where to attack the opposition which would be fantastic

How on earth do they monitor core body temperature? I can't see the players sticking a probe up the back side every time they put the shirt on.

I saw something similar to this on tv last week, they swallow a tablet that contains a sensor which the laptop receives its readings from Eek
