This is quite funny, yet Martinez has just won a quarter final and he’s taking shots at the referee (for the wrong reason) and Van Gaal (for being supportive of his team).

Guy was at arsenal for 8 years, clearly rubbed off on him

Whatever happened to being happy you won rather than needless schadenfreude?

Otamendi said they did that because a couple of the Dutch players had been trying to call them names and psyche them out while the pens were being taken.

Whether you can trust his word on that is another matter.

There was stuff going on all game.
Seemed both teams gave their share.

Really enjoyed the aerial bombardment in this match leading up to the Dutch goals , makes a change from all the purist pass pass pass stuff.

This fawning over Messi is getting ridiculous

I heard a commentator say" Molina should share his moment of glory with Messi" after he scored

Or " can anyone in the world play that pass,I dont think so"

C'mon it wasn't that amazing a pass...Harry Kane De Bruyne & many others can do it too,no problem

the pass was unbelievable

Will he be banned for that outburst? Managers saying that will be.

And there's that what I prefer a team winning than a team always about a Messi or a Ronaldo. At least Portugal has other more humble stars and they dare to bench Ronaldo. Never got to stop hearing Messi and Messi and only Messi in the Argentina team with many in there playing so arrogantly as well.

Playing arrogantly? What does that even mean?

Totally justified IMO. The dutch weren't victims here, just watch how much they were trying to mess around with the Argentina players when they were going to kick their penalties (even their nice boy cop/GK went up to stand in front of Lautaro's face before he took the deciding penalty and told him who knows what).

Van Gaal was all week talking shit about Messi and Argentina. Even Messi confronted him at the end of the game.

The ref was awful, for both sides. He likes the spotlight. Paredes should have been sent off for the tackle and for kicking the ball to the bench. So did 2 of the NED defenders. Van Dijk and Timber
But the worst part was the added time. I had never seen a match with almost no incident get 10 minutes of added time. 6 in the first half too

You don't need to trust him. The modern game has cameras everywhere
They approached the last 3 shooters from Argentina. Dumfries even got sent off for this
