There was definite ITK (when I was still allowed there before my alleged naughtiness) that it was Lewis who had the problem with 'Arry and decided he had to go...so there could be some truth to it.

There was and I remember it, but I figure it could be for any reason. I thought at the time it was probably because of the way Harry talked to the press. It could be true, and Harry would certainly have met Abramovich if there was an invite (imo), but just not convinced either way.

No, and I'm not necessarily ssaying that it is true that Redknapp was dismissed for meeting Abrahmovich - jsut that it is certainly plauisible that he is correct about Lewis being the primary mover, in this instance, in his dismissal, even though he normally leaves the running of the football club to Levy, as it ties in with ITK.

I also noted that it directly contradicts Redknapp's claims that he was totally shocked by his dismisal and not expecting it at all - which would directly contradict the claim that he was expecting it since Christmas - and we all know how readily he contradicts himself, don't we ;)

The Botham line might be my favourite sign off line in any piece of itk in history. So many questions. So many questions.
maybe this puts Botham at the top of the asst manager list.....

I'll get my coat...

Can't see it. Levy runs the ship and Lewis would respect his wishes. Lewis doesn't really seem to care to get involved in the day to day club business.

I also can't see Redknapp coming out and being so blase about meeting Abrahmovic when he got a payout for us sacking him.

That isn't the case at all, according to JJ.

JJ also said before Harry's sacking that 'our hands were tied' suggesting that it wasn't 100% Levy's decision. At the time people were thinking it was a reason why Harry couldn't be fired or was to do with an incoming new owner.
After the sacking there was also talk of Lewis disliking Harry so this is not unreasonable.
As for Harry not expecting his sacking, that's just laughable. He was playing hardball over his contract giving Levy a 'back me or sack me' ultimatum. He must have realised that Levy could choose the 'sack' option

Wouldn't it be cool if it turned out that Botham was slipped some barbiturates at breakfast and turned up at the clubhouse wearing nothing but golf-spikes and a glove, and equipped for the round with only a cricket bat and four small handguns #justsayin

Did Ryan confirm that Redknapp met Chelsea about their job ?

Either way, if there's any truth that they'd be mad enough to hire him, I should think the job will be available again come October.

I think he may have done...someone definitely did.
Yup...someone suggested earlier getting the odds on 'Arry being the next Chelsea manager, and also on him being the manager by January (y)

I love ITK like this and actually find it quite believable. If only you had said that he said all this from the window of his car I would believe it 100%!

He went to university don't ya know!

Yeah...he ain't the only one.
He did it to me for a typo...in the next two posts of his I read, and the first one I genuinely wasn't looking, he failed to finish his sentence with a full-stop (or equivalent), and in the second one he repeat a word for effect where normal usage would require a comma, but he failed to insert one. I gave him a <BAD SPELLING> rating for both of them, politely informed him why they were so rated, and then put him on <IGNORE>.

hi all, not a WUm, posted on coys a lot, my dad went to play golf on Saturday in bournemouth, he was there for the weekend and he saw Arry, think it was his golf day or something, he said

He knew from Jan he was toast, he met Roman Abramhovic for dinner as he wanted him to take the chelsea job, joe lewis found out about it and wanted him gone straight away, only reason he waited was he thought he would get the england job and we would get some comp, he said he didnt get on great with levy but thinks levy would have kept him on, but lewis called the shots
Also said he would never invite Ian Botham to another golf day, dont know why or what happened

Nice post mate... nice to see you here as well as COYS. :)
