no.

Corluka, Huddlestone and Kaboul both have impact injuries which could not have been avoided. Woodgate played after long periods out and therefore are more likely to pick up niggles. Bale's injury may be a cause of over playing/training or just bad luck and imo VDV clearly isnt fit - he picks up far to many niggles and doesnt look like he is in great shape generally

Are we unfit =, but don't think so..

But, considering the extent of our injuries, and the fact that we had to adjust our system at the start of the season to accomodate VDV, coninciding with not being able to put the same central defensive partnership out two weeks running (due to aforementioned injuries), which led to a slow start, results wise, isn't it wonderful that we are one win away from going third

Listen, as much as we like to think we are the only team blighted by injuries, trust me, we aren't.

What has now set us apart this season is the fact that they haven't had such an impact on results which is what top teams manage to do and is testament to not only our strength in depth but our collective mentality and team spirit.

We are, however, the only team that has 6 nailed-on starters(albeit when fully fit) injured.

We may have the most injuries in the premier league, but to be honest that's probably the lowest overall number of injured premiership players I've ever seen on there

Didn't we have 11-12 out at one point earlier in the season?

We do seem to have consistent muscle-related problems. Like groin tears seem to be a little too common if you ask me.

I read an article about how training in the UK is very focussed on maintaining peak fitness and as such very intense. Whereas the need is only to be at your peak for the game. The reason why we have more injured players and players generally not lasting as long is down to the tough training regimes.

The author, a sports fitness expert, said a better method is to focus on maintaining an high level of fitness without the added pressure of constantly trying to be at peak performance. Plus then more time in training can focus on technique than fitness.

If I remember rightly it was in a paper like the Independant or Gaurdian.

Everton were the ones with an uber-injury crisis last season, this year seems to be our turn. The fact that we're doing so well despite that is testament to our great squad. I think we've just been unlucky. VDV is definitely not as fit as he could be and that's contributed to his injuries and Woodgate and King we all know about, but most of the others are not fitness related. Bale's just played too many games over the last year. Modric was a freak illness. Defoe, Dawson, Huddlestone, Corluka, all those injuries were game injuries. We've been unfortunate, perhaps based on players like Krancjar and VDV we could be better at fitness when a player is coming back from injury though.

No one really says we have an injury crisis because of how good our squad is but if chelsea had the same players in equivalent positions everyone would say they are in a major injury crisis because their back ups are simply not good enough

Its like Ferrera Bosingwa Ivanovic Terry Alex Mikel Malouda and lampard all out

The whole thing about VDV not being fit is a bit misleading (a comment earlier he seems out of shape generally). As Harry stated he missed pre season which did not help, but his calf and hamstring problems are likely due to increased fitness and intensity. VDV for the past years at RM never played week in week out for a whole season, so as we have used him all the time his body is just tired through adapting to pace of the game here and generally playing all the time. There was an article on talksport which showed in a great deal of games he had run more distance than Bale. On the injuries overall I do not think it is not down to training methods or lack of fitness, maybe more our style of play people trying to stop us from playing and resulting in more impact injuries.
