i am ready to let Townsend go

I was ready not only to let Rose go but actively carry him to whichever club would accept money for him before last season. Then he became one of the best fullbacks in the league. They're very similar; great athletes, powerful shooters with both feet, fast, confident, capable on the ball and errm...a bit lacking in the brain department. Rose though sorted that problem out last season, I'm happy to wait one more to see if Townsend can do the same.

Loads of fans out in the U.S saying Kane spent almost 2 hours signing autographs and speaking to fans...on his birthday too! What a guy.
He walked the entire stretch of stadium where we were allowed to sit (so half the stadium) and signed things/took selfies with every single person that was standing at the edge waiting for him. The medical staff tried to pull him off about 2/3rds into it but he refused (and he kicked off his boots and did the rest of the signings in his socks). Absolute class act.

Erik Lamela got started signing things later than everyone else, but stuck around well into the MLS all stars open training, when all the other spurs players were long gone. He easily couldve left early but wanted to sign things for the rest of the people waiting. Pretty sure he still doesn't speak a lick of English. People would say things in English to him and you could tell it wouldn't register.

Don't have any ITK but Dier doesn't seem too stoked on Defensive Mid (he gave the most least convincing "....its... okay..."when I asked if he liked it.) Tommy Carroll said he thought he'd be sticking around the first team. Danny rose did not seem happy one bit (nor did he last year in Seattle, but maybe that's just how he is, or he just doesn't like annoying Americans.) He was definitely there though. I told Poch that my mom was his biggest fan and that she'd be jealous i was meeting him and he laughed pretty hard.

My buddy next to me handed DeAndre Yedlin a scarf and asked if he wanted it as a gift, he said yes and put it on before realizing what it was.... a timbers scarf. So we have a picture of him with it before he realized it and gave it back. :ROFLMAO:

The most interesting snippet out of that is on Carroll IMO.

My hunch was we'd move him on this summer.

The game represents Tottenham's penultimate friendly before they start their yearly pursuit of a coveted Champions League spot when they face off with Manchester United on August 8.

They do realize we will play Madrid and either Bayern or AC Milan, right? So this isn't the penultimate friendly....

Bet Levy, Poch and co are well impressed they've flown the whole team out there only for the MLS 'stars' to all pull a sicky.

The audience probably isn't worth the hassle now.

In terms of a better match, we may be better off. Some of these guys on the MLS squad are only All Stars in terms of name and not on actual production throughout the year. For instance, two of the players called up as replacements are the leading goal scorer and assist man in the MLS at the half way point. The quality won't suffer. People who are fans of the MLS and American soccer are going to watch it regardless, I don't think you lose any viewership State side because of the withdrawals. Every team is represented in these All Star games, so you tend to watch and cheer on the hometown player.

Rose was very, very good for us under AVB before his injury as well, so he did have it in him. But Rose is massively different to Townsend. Rose had at least shown be had it in him to be a very good full back. Townsend has not shown that, really. We all praised him under AVB because he was the only player who would actually try and attack, but he didnt really show anything in terms of end product then either. Same thing when he was on loan at QPR. From that, we can pretty much grasp that Townsend doesnt really provide much in way of end product, and he doesnt really have a great work rate either off the ball. He's really not suited for our system and he's really not good enough for where we are currently and what we are striving to be, unfortunately. He'd probably carve out a decent career at a side like Swansea or Villa(under Sherwood), to be fair

Wrt the ASG, while some bug named players have pulled out, they've been replaced by players who actually deserve to be there. For instance, Michael Bradley in no way, shape or form, deserved to be in the game and quite frankly, he doesnt really deserve to be first xi on the US either. He's been TERRIBLE since moving from Roma to Toronto. I mean, really, really, really bad for club and country. Fat Frank hasnt played. Slippy G's only played 2 games. Keane has actually been hurt recently.

As far as I am aware SSN were advertising it early today even when the Skysupport team on twitter were saying it wasn't on.

Sky Guide also lists showings at 10:50 and 17:00 so plenty of opportunities to catch it.
