Only a year left on his contract?I would be very disappointed if we sold Massimo Luongo though - think he could be a great replacement for Scott Parker in a year or two. If Swindon got promoted, maybe a loan until Christmas there and then a PL loan for 6 months might be a decent compromise, but sale....noooooooo !

I suppose theres a decision to be made now whether we cash in or offer a new contract- depending on how we rate his chances of progressing or becoming more valuable
Also a decision for him to make if he wants to sign a new contract or move on and get first team football
what level loan do you think he is ready for?Best info I have is that his current contract expires bin 2014 (but that may be out of date info - the club are not good at giving out such info) but I would hope that we have either already extended his contract or do so shortly.
However for siome reason Spurs (and other PL sides) do seem to let development players contracts run down to short lengths - eg Adam Smith's contract was extended for 3 years in this January when it was due toi run out this siummer - perhaps because it is felt that they are protected by FIFA regulations who require a development fee be paid for u23 players even when out of contract.
Based upon current performances I would be renewing his contract asap together with lining up the best loan deal I could find fir him - he does look like a player capable of replacing Parker when he hangs up his boots in a year or so time.

Championship? lower PL?
Luongo made 11 appearances for ipswich including 6 starts in the Championship and 2 starts in League Cup, and feedback from Ipswich fans was very positive before Ipswich decided they needed more experience in the side, broufght in more experienced loanees and Luongo returned to Spurs.
Tricky one, imo he could probably play lower PL without any problems but might also benefit from playing regularly in Championsip - also not sure if a lower PL side would take him having only played a few Championship games.
Think I would try to get a PL loan (after a preeseason playing with first team) but not be too upset if he played for a Championship side until Christmas and then played in PL - I think technicaly he's definitely capable of holding his own.
Luongo's just scored a brilliant goal in the playoff semi-final. Curled it into the bottom corner from the edge of the area.
Griffin Park's pitch is the same size as White Hart Lane.
