sign him because hes a damn good player and worth 12mil.
Actually, since he joined Sporting CP (2012) he played always as cb!!! (only a game or two as LB to cover injuries and suspensions). By the way, according to the portuguese press there exists an agreement between Sporting and the fund that owns 75% of the economic rights of the player that forces Sporting to accept bids above 12M£...
I hope thats true because we dodge a bullet there. I would not sign this player he doesnt fit the bill we need for a CB.Southampton have signed Bertrand on loan. So if they ARE buying Rojo he'll probably replace Lovren. Which would appear to make him a CB. Maybe!
Doesn't seem ideal for him at all to be someone's backup. He's much better than that.Does anyone think he would come to back up Vertonghen? As long as Vertonghen is staying, Rojo made no sense to me - he is not a RCB.
From relative nobody to Southampton to Man Utd?

People suggesting Rojo has £15m release, that can't be the case as they have rejected more than that already.

Rojo reportedly set to go strike to get move, soon find out what Sporting's stance is, expect them to dig in.
Thought he looked very solid in the world cup actually, good buy for united.
