A bloke I've met recently through my son's football is a palace fan and absolutely raves about Guehi.

He says losing Eze or Olise would be preferable to losing him.

Surprised by that. Haven't seen much to rave about Guehi personally.

Perhaps someone with access to stats could share more light but I saw a Spurs YouTube recently going through Guehi's stats and they were awful.

Not that stats are the be all and end all, of course.

Guehi is great, I love him. However, in terms of partners to suit Romero, there are others with more suitable skillsets. If Romero was to leave though, I would take Guehi and build the defence around him.

They are indeed poor and to be honest he doesn’t even pass the eye test, haven’t been impressed when we’ve played them.

Pretty poor. If we sign him for £40-50m instead of Tapsoba for example it will be highly depressing.

One of my mates is a palace season ticket holder so I go a couple of times a year and he's easily their best defender. For a young player he really commands the defence and has great anticipation - better at interceptions and reading the game rather than a big physical CB. Better on the ground than in the air, but good at bringing the ball at and passing. At 22 he's got a lot of room to grow from an already good starting point. I actually think he'd be quite a good fit for partnering Romero.

Going to be too expensive I suspect. Plus palace don’t need to sell and I think Chelsea have a transfer clause.
