What a load of bollocks, I bet their source is Harry Redknapp. The silly thing is that due to us losing a game people on here will believe it

Ignore the Sun,

the article is by Rob Beasley so very unlikely

What. The. Fuck?

He had no pre-season training with Man City or us, looked incredibly rusty on his couple of runs out at the start of the season then picked up a hamstring strain (probably due to his lack of training). Yesterday was his first game available after that injury and although I would've started him, I think he justified the decision not to in the time he was on.

Honestly, how do The Sun and their ilk get away with printing this bollocks? It's an outright lie: they know it and we on here know it. Unfortunately, the Spurs supporting public at large who don't use internet forums possibly won't know that Ade has in fact been injured for the last few games.

Did Villas-Boas actually want to sign him? I'm not convinced that any of the players we secured in the summer were his targets.

This is the snowballing affect these kind of rumours have, DM make up bollox before the match saying that Ade is unhappy, he comes on as a sub, we lose and now the Sun are making up bollox by saying he wants to leave, brilliant!

I'm guessing that the same negative reports would have been written after the Man Utd and Reading games but we won so there was no follow up story.

Laughable journalism - guaranteed this wouldn't have been written had we beat Chelsea.

The sun probably wanted to write this story weeks ago but we kept winning. After we lost they probably said "quick where's that story we made up about that Spurs player being unhappy?"

I'm amazed he didn't come on until the 73rd minute. We must be an amazing side to be able to leave a world class player on the bench for so long

Should have played at least 30mins

I love it when people hint that Levy decides who he wants and then bus them and says to the manager there you go!

In a way I so want it to be true because as far as chairmen go it would make Levy he best judge of a player around!

I would play Ade and Defoe together - maybe Defoe or Ade in the hole. I cant stand Sig or Dempsey and yesterday we played with nine men not the 11 we ought to be starting with.

You cant drop Defoe

Maybe if he was professional enough to keep himself fit during the summer, or at minimum train on his own when pre season started, this situation wouldn't have occurred.

The word around the campfire in SC was that he delayed his signing so he could have extra holiday.

If the story is true, Ade has no one to blame but himself.

Exactly. If Ade is throwing a wobbler over lack of game time - and that's a big 'if' - then it's a problem entirely of his own making. We know that he was on holiday in the States whilst we were over there rather than training with the Man City reserves and even yesterday he didn't look match sharp to me. Compare that to Defoe who's done things like take himself off for special individual fitness training over the summer. We can debate the merits of the two players all day but if you're the manager, whose attitude is going to most impress you?

Shows the difference of attitude. Defoe throughout his career has tried to improve, seem to remember him having sessions outside of training with Ian wright.

I thought Ade treated us like a joke in the summer and his situation is a direct result of his own actions. Defoe is more limited that Ade, but is at least up for it. That extra work is paying off and is clearly taking on board Andres plans snd systems.

I don't like sulkers and Ade needs to man-up to get back in the team.

Black Canary, is your user name after the old school comic character? As a side note :)

I reckon Ade and Defoe together could be very lethal and if we stick with the pressuring tactics (Defoe really put in a shift and pressed a lot yesterday) and allowance to switch positions we could be very successful. Defoe was good from the wide left yesterday and with Ade roaming around, drifting wide but also functioning as a target man we could probably play with to forwards without hurting our midfield (provided that they both press and helps to regain possession). Defoe keeps on scoring so he can't really be dropped, but he asks to much from the team to be truly effective when leading the line. A front four of Ade, Defoe, Bale and Lennon, with permission to switch position, could be very good. Not in a traditional 4-4-2, but a 4-2-3-1 with Defoe/Ade in the hole could work.

jetset said avb didn't want either vertonghen or dembele so it wouldn't surprise me.

Meh - if Adebayor doesn't play against Maribor on Thursday, then I'll get worried! He might still be back on the bench next week against Southampton, but he should be back in for Norwich on the 31st.

I'd get a FRIGHT if he didn't play on Halloween!!! (oh yes, I went there)

Villas-Boas is only the head coach, he would have an input into what type of player to bring in but Levy always has the final day.

IIRC the only player Villas-Boas wanted in the summer was Moutinho, that turned out well

He's just joined FFS! What nonsense.

A season on the bench, yes, you could believe it, but a few games? How absurd
