Oh good. Find a link to the transcript, unable to translate on phone. Good! Great! Grand!

I have translated and will copy paste for you my friend

23.03 - "Italy-England in the final? It would be bad for me in any case. I don't know how my colleagues would react if Italy won, I've only been here for 10 days. Kane? He unlocked himself at the European Championships as soon as I landed in London. And 'a great footballer, I can't wait to see him at work. Kane on the transfer market? The club's goal is to keep him, I have been very lucky in recent years to see great players and right now Kane is one of the best strikers in the world. world. He's a special player.
23.14 - "Italy-Spain? Two great coaches like Mancini and Luis Enrique face each other. It will be a tactical match, in my opinion Italy has some more certainty than them. We are playing very well and have more solidity in some players" .

23.20 - "Berardi was very close to Juventus, but I am happy for him because we have been in contact for three years. We started dealing with him after a few games, he is a great talent and it would have been a shame not to be able to show him internationally. happy for him. Church? Not always everything is fine and people's judgments can always change, that's right. We have always been very convinced of him, a guy with great quality and above all a crazy character. His main gift is his tenacity and the desire to improve every day ".

23.23 - "Pogba at Juventus? We are always very fond of the players we have had. Paul arrived at 18, he grew up with us and it was a great satisfaction to see him succeed. This affection is part of the relationship that is always there between Pogba and Juventus. Having said that, I think it is very difficult, there has never been a moment in which we have been close to taking it back. "

23.38 - "This morning a doctor came into my room to swab me and, thinking I was English, hugged me. I explained to him that I am Italian, but here there is great enthusiasm for this national team".

23.39 - "In England there is a culture of investing in sports centers and stadiums owned by them. The center of Tottenham is huge, all taken care of down to the last detail, it is truly a wonderful place where people live the day with the pleasure of working. You work with great serenity and enthusiasm, really beautiful ".

23.40 - "Choice of the Tottenham coach? We talked as we always do with some coaches and having talks with them we chose Nuno Espirito Santo. He is a coach who has a great deal of experience in England, he has had four wonderful years with Wolverhampton . We decided on this solution. Conte? We talked to him, but when you choose, you don't just talk to a coach. You try to understand the best choice, the energy they have at that moment and then you make evaluations. Gattuso ? What I said happened, we talked to him and beyond everything we were only at the interviews. It took a bit too much to say that it was done, even with Fonseca. In Italy the contact is already a closure, while here you live with much more tranquility ".

23.44 - How did the choice of Tottenham come about? I have known the president for many years, who has built an incredible Tottenham over the last 20 years. They have been playing European cups for 15 years, often the Champions League. I have always had great mutual respect with the president and when he presented me with this opportunity, I was very happy. The Premier has always been one of my dreams, working in this type of environment is a new experience that I think completes me a lot, both on a professional and human level. It's a great club, I'm very happy. "

23.45 - "The end of my relationship with Juventus? Nothing has changed, it has been 11 wonderful years, which in the world of football are enormous. I carry so many memories, it was a wonderful experience and I think it was right to change like that. Without the Suarez case, would you still be at Juventus? These are things that happen, there are ongoing investigations that will ascertain the situation. it is a personal regret to live in these situations, but when you have certain roles it can happen. I'm glad it's clearing up. If I stayed would Allegri come back? I don't know, I had already talked to Agnelli and I hadn't thought about programming. I just have to thank Allegri for the five years we lived together. I respect him very much as a person and as a coach, he is really very intelligent. We have won many titles together, I just have to thank him.

23.56 - Would I have taken Donnarumma to Juventus? I am the sporting director of Tottenham, he is a very good goalkeeper, at the moment the best young player in the world. Here in England I have never tried to take it. "

This is an extract directly from the Sky video :
"It's difficult to win at Tottenham. Only talks with Conte and Gattuso"

Paratici then explained how the idea of working with Tottenham was born and recounted the phases that led to the choice of Espirito Santo as coach after contacts with Conte, Fonseca and Gattuso. "The Spurs president and I have known each other for many years, Levy has built an incredible Tottenham in the last twenty years. It has a futuristic stadium, a crazy sports center. For 15 years the club has been playing at high levels and in European competitions. We have always had mutual respect and when he presented me with this opportunity I was very happy because the Premier has always been one of my dreams and my goals. This is a new experience and I am sure it will complement me professionally and humanly. We know that here it is very difficult to win - said the new Tottenham ds -. It is already difficult to reach the top four, considering that in recent years the top English clubs have divided their participation in the Champions League. This championship gives great energy and enthusiasm, the football here lived viscerally and I also noticed it during the last England match. The choice of the coach? We talked to some coaches and po i, having talks with them, we chose to go to Nuno. He has great experience in the Premier League and has worked in England for four years. He valued a lot of players and had already done well at Valencia. For the relationships we had, it is true that Conte was close to Tottenham. He too had experience in England. But you don't just talk to a coach, you hear a lot of them and then choices are made based on the reasons. We also talked to Gattuso, but beyond what came out in England we simply had interviews. In Italy things are going a long way, the contact is already considered a closure. Here, on the other hand, you live everything with much more tranquility. This news had lived strangely here in England. "

Thanks so much for this @Romario , interesting stuff! I'm really looking forward to the transfer market, and as reported previously, completely agree that we should focus on our defence first! Hopefully Tomiyasu gets the ball rolling with regards to incomings. Can see Lamela/Aurier being the next to leave.

I found this a strange turn of phrase and I’m assuming google translate doesn’t really reflect the Italian meaning behind it. Is he talking about the fan backlash I wonder?:

Should've posted this in here by looks of it:

Interesting that he brough Pjanic to Juve but then shipped him off to Barca as part of the deal for Arthur (iirc) only to now want to sign him again for us?

I read somewhere that Pjanic and Umtiti were being "released" by Barca but can't imagine they'd not want a fee for each of them.

This is just the sky sports paper round up and that story is from the Express. Dunno how good pjanic is now

After Pjanic you say? We should get a double deal with Real Madrid for that midfielder we have been after for years. Then we could have "Pjanic at the Isco.. "

I shall get my coat :)

Idk, but I know someone who makes a tonne of money, just from people watching him play video games.

Yeah that's something I'll never be able to get my head around.

Going online to watch someone play a game?

Whatever happened to finishing school & the first thought you have is to get home, get changed and GO OUT to meet mates for a kick about etc?

Nowadays it seems to be more like "you gonna be online later?".

I'll never understand it.

Yep, online gaming as a whole is something that’s just passed me by.

So, Tinder for virgins.

Cute.
That's a bad take. Gamers can make some serious cash from it, and there are plenty 24 hour streams done for charities. It's not easy to stream, either. To play a game, be interactive and drive the viewers up.

Anyway, that's for a different thread entirely.

For someone like me who has such bad social anxiety it is a great platform. I tend to watch certain games for the story, or if I don't have that console/game, or someone's reaction if I know what is about to happen. Also, don't underestimate the impact last year. Nobody could go out and kick a ball (and not everyone likes football or has friends to do such things). The kids who were bullied, the kids who were left in their rooms gaming because they had nobody else are now thriving thanks to YouTube and Twitch. I have made better friends via online means than in person.

It's okay if you don't understand, just don't judge those who do use it as an escape (like this very forum).

Does anyone know what ‘the Suarez case’ referred to in the article is?

Juve wanted Suarez to take Italian citizenship (his wife is Italian) so they didn't go over their non-EU quota.

The contents of the test were communicated to Suarez prior to him taking it, presumably so he didn't f*ck up the actual exam.

Anyway, they got busted and Paratici was investigated for his part in it.

Damn. If only my initial post was a joke.

I've judged nobody, and clearly stated "I'll never understand it".

As someone who's locked away all day every day, dealing with issues you have no idea about. I understand far more than you realise or will ever know.

I simply come from a generation where the first thing I thought of as a kid, was arranging to meet up with mates after school. Being stuck indoors was the last thing we wanted.

I'm sorry you took my posts in the manner that you did. No offence was meant! But please do not insinuate that I don't understand the world of bullying, or kids being ignored for being different etc. It's no secret that they were the very people I spent a huge part of my young life defending & standing up for.

Peace!

I'm sorry, but this came across as judgemental to me. It seemed to me as though you couldn't comprehend any kid not going out to kick a ball, as if football was the only thing they should be interested in. You did say you don't understand yes, and I even said myself that was okay.

I am 30, so I grew up within the tech and gaming boom. I think my generation was the last to truly embrace and enjoy both. One day we'd go out, one day we'd be gaming on Mario Kart or something.

I'm sorry if I misunderstood. It is Monday morning after all, and I will stick by that excuse.

I think what Fabio was trying to explain is that in Italy if a club and a prospective manager are announced in the media to have agreed to meet for talks then you can be sure that both parties are willing to do everything possible to make the deal happen. Compromises will be made by both sides and the talks show that they are both extremely serious about getting it over the line. Hence his expression In Italy things are going a long way, the contact is already considered a closure.

Over in the UK (as we have a 4000 page thread which can attest to the fact) when it is announced that a club is 'in talks with' it has very little significance and simply means an interview is taking place with no real commitment from either party. Fabio is trying to explain how he needed to understand that subtle difference between the British "interviews" / "advanced talks" and the Italian "talks".

I would imagine initially he would have been quite surprised to be able to interview someone without the club having to feel "obligated" in any way regarding the position. I may be wrong but that would be my interpretation of his statement.

Why pay to watch professional sports when you can play it yourself?

It's not for me but I've watched when my boy has put it on. Many of these streamers give out advice and tips on how to get better. Makes as much sense as anything else people watch these days imo.
