Sure but Campos has publicly stated he prefers to scout players in the £3-5m bracket over established, expensive signings. We wouldn’t actually have to give him much cash, merely raise some modest funds through sale which need to happen anyway. He’d be a perfect fit for our needs at the moment.
what we have to realise though that it’s one thing buying players for the French league for £3m and letting them grow their game in order to then sell on for a huge profit but it’s quite another to expect to put all those players in to a premier league team and expect them to stay competitive for a top 4 finish. Another thing to consider is the need for these players to be predominantly home grown as to not take up squad places, unfortunately you can’t really buy young English players for that amount of money, see the kid from Birmingham moving to Dortmund for example.
