I couldn’t care less about ratings, but this kind of post is pathetic when someone has taken the time to put together a reasonable analysis. I’m not a mind reader but I’ve read Ange’s book, I watched everything there was to see on YouTube prior to his appointment and I’ve read most of his interviews so I’m actually basing my opinion on something other than blind optimism or popularity points. Judging by the way he’s managed his career, and if I put myself in Ange’s shoes, I think he’d go if the opportunity is there for him.
You may be right, I wouldn’t be dismissive of your theory and it did occur to me this morning. This could be Ange’s only opportunity to manage Liverpool given his age and, to be fair to them, the job doesn’t come up as often as others.

However, I do believe he’ll stay. He’s here less than a year and seems a man of integrity.

That said, none of us has a clue what these guys are thinking.

There’s always a chance. But the other way of looking at it is that Ange has worked really hard and waited a long time for his big job in the Premier League. Does he really want to risk walking away from that when things are going so well?

If we can maintain/improve this season Levy needs to rip up existing contract and give him a bumper new 6 year deal

Some of you love making up scenarios and losing heads over it. Stop worrying about things out of your control. Klopp isn't leaving until the END of the season anyway. So no point stressing for a few months at the very least.

Personally, I doubt he'll be leaving us any time soon. He has already started building something here and he feels like the kind to want to see it through until he is sacked or he feels burnt out.

Not sure its a really good article - when it attempts to link all of the injury issues to Ange's balls.

Richarlison - not an system injury
Maddison - not a system injury
Solomon - not a system injury
Perisic - not a system injury
Sarr - passed fit for AFCON
Lo Celso - no indication his injuries were related to over-use.
This reminds me of that Steve Coogan sketch:

In 1975 no one died
In 1976 no one died
In 1977 no one died
In 1978 no one died
In 1979 no one died
In 1980 someone died
In 1981 no one died
In 1982 there was the incident with a pigeon
In 1983 no one died

Exactly this. It’s far more likely he’ll eventually be sacked than resign to join another club imo. History tells us that.

You’re perfectly entitled to your opinion but no need to get annoyed if people disagree as it is far far more likely Ange stays than goes especially in the short to medium term at least.

The SC psychology case study Chapter 12:

Abandonment Issues
I don’t think he’ll go but I’m getting flashbacks to Frank Arnesen. Years in the wilderness and Levy pulls this genius out of the hat who finally seems to be getting us back on track and he fucks off to the Chavs. Couldn’t believe it when I saw the headline in 2005.

Like I say, don’t think Ange will go but stranger things have happened.

So Ange linked to City and Liverpool on the same day, just nice to have a manager people rate highly again ;)

Not worried at all personally about Ange leaving until he believes his work at Spurs is done - he’s a man of principals.

Ange will obviously be in their thinking. He’s announced himself as a fan and he is one of the few managers with a big enough personality to succeed Klopp and instantly win over their rabid fan base. Alonso will probably top their list but he could well turn it down. He’s still cutting his teeth and he’ll know that Liverpool or Real will come knocking again if he continues doing what he’s doing.

Ange on the other hand is at the tail end of his career and was pretty cut throat about leaving Celtic when a bigger and better opportunity arrived. Liverpool is probably his end game and although he’ll feel he still has unfinished business at Spurs, this is an opportunity that might not present itself again. I get the impression that his biggest motivation is honouring his late father and his inner child, not building dynasties.

If they come knocking, there’s no doubt in my mind he’ll go so I hope Pool have set their sights elsewhere.

There's NO doubt? None? Total conviction that you know the inner workings of the mind of someone (I presume) you have never sat down and talked with.

Just watching that last interview and he is really is exactly what we need.

It's hard to describe in words, but whenever I've achieved anything in life it's because of my absoloute belief that I'll succeed, it's a weird sort of confidence that arises from having your target in sights and pushing you're whole being towards it without any doubts. (Sounds weird now I put it in words)

But Ange just has this focus when he talks about us and especially where he wants to take us. There is a force behind him that makes it impossible for him to fail.

But thinking back, my memory will always be the Chelsea game, that game shows me that he's spurs, or his thinking aligns with spurs. To keep going for the throat no matter what happens. It's how winning is done.

It also represents what supporting Spurs for me is, it's a team that always tries to win, no matter what obstacles are in the way we go to win a game.

Conte almost broke me with some of his subs, accepting a loss, or taking a draw. In reality it's just cowardice and excuses. I don't like people who settle in life, who say well it's better than this or that, or if this or that happens then I can do this. Or the constant moaning, everyone has problems and obstacles to overcome, you either face them or you moan. Ange faces them

I want to win, I want my club to win, they might lose today but we leave it all out there, we go for the win ALWAYS

If a trophy comes it comes, if it doesn't it doesn't, but if we continue to play like this and go for the win in every game, then I'll be happy.

We have stumbled upon an absoloute gem of a manager. I think before long he'll be talked about in the same way that Fergie, Klopp and Pep are discussed.

Why? Just on the basis he’s a childhood fan?

Moving from Celtic to the Premier League was a major step up. No one disputes that. But what makes moving from Tottenham to Liverpool the same kind of step up?

The fact that he’s a childhood fan is one element but it’s deeper than that - it’s what Liverpool will represent to him. It’s no exaggeration to say that Ange’s entire identity, his relationship with football and his outlook on the game are built on his childhood experiences watching football with his father. The driving forces in his career have been the urge to make his dad proud and to carry the flag for Australian football. Liverpool are by far and away the prestige PL club in Australia, so what better way to boost interest in the game internally and raise its profile internationally than by taking the Liverpool job?

Putting the emotional stuff and the theorising aside, surely Liverpool are objectively a step up from? Spurs were a circus 6 months ago. Meanwhile, Klopp showed that it’s possible to build a dynasty at Liverpool, he won everything thatspossible to win and he might be leaving behind a title winning side to take over.

Finally, this is a guy that has defied all the odds to emerge from the footballing backwaters and get to where he is today. Would he stare a gift horse in the mouth towards the end of his career? He has already stated that he doesn’t see himself managing deep into his 60s and that he wants to see out his career in Greece. If Liverpool is his pinnacle, the risk of missing his chance and the potential for regret is far greater than the risk of failing there.

I realise that I’ll probably be labelled as a bed-wetting, amateur psychologist, conspiracy theorist based on the reactions, but hey ho. Goes without saying that I’d love for him to stay and I think Spurs are the greatest club in the land, just putting myself in his shoes based on what I’ve seen and read.

If you're the sort of person that worries about things you have no control over, then i'd be far more concerned about his persistent cough than him leaving for Liverpool !

Saw this thread was getting lots of posts and it honestly didn’t occur to me that people would be concerned about him leaving.

Re the Liverpool post: Klopp is younger than Postecoglou. I strongly suspect FSG will want to replace Klopp with another manager who could be there for 8 years+. That’s probably not Ange. Furthermore there is an ex-Liverpool player, very popular with their fans, who would be the outstanding candidate for that job even without his existing connection with Liverpool. It just makes too much sense for them to target Xabi Alonso for that not to happen.

Re City: That job isn’t becoming available in less than 18 months. Whenever Pep goes, Ange will be 60 or older. I just think City Group would want a younger manager. De Zerbi would probably be the leading candidate or someone of a similar profile whenever that job comes up.

No issues at all with people sharing an opinion mate. “FFS” falls some way short of that. If people disagree that’s fine, let’s talk and debate, but posts like that stymie discussion and add no value whatsoever. Particularly annoying when you take the time to present a theory or an argument with actual words and sentences.

You must have missed the bit where I said “in my mind”. And you must have
missed the many other posts arguing why Ange would stay with the same force of conviction and without the privilege of being inside his head.

I just posted an opinion dude. No idea why it’s such a controversial one.
