I mean he played down being a fan when we played Liverpool. It's like being worried he will fly off to Hollywood to film a reboot of Happy Days. He would cost a fortune. There's going to be a few candidates but they won't afford to come for Ange. At a push they might pay for de Zerbi but I fancy they might go for Nagelsmann or Flick.

There is no way Ange will leave Spurs next season relax. There is no doubt in MY mind that he wouldn't go.

Ange leaving Celtic to manage in the Premier League is not equivalent to Ange leaving Premier League Spurs to manage Premier League Liverpool. The fact he’s a fan is not particularly important either. He’s a professional first and foremost.

I dare say Alonso was in Real Madrid's mindset for succession planning and expected Klopp to continue past this season.

Think this announcement might make them hasten any moves regardless of Ancelotti signing an extension.

Ange is a man of great integrity. We have given him his biggest break, and although it is hard to imagine considering he started by winning three managers of the month on the trot, we actually took a big gamble on him. Since that point we have done everything possible to accommodate the changes he has wanted to instigate, across the whole club. There is no way in a million years that he will leave Spurs to join Liverpool at the end of this season. Even if the Liverpool job was his greatest aspiration, he wouldn't do it now.

How often does a coach leave for another big team?

Will Ange want to follow a coach who has been so succesful at Liverpool? That's a big ask for anyone who replaces Klopp.

Will Ange trust the Liverpool board and sporting director if he is happy with his working relationship here?

Will he want to give up on everything he has built here?

I can't see it, it is more likely he stays here as long as Klopp and Pep have at Liverpool and City.

I think if he was still at Celtic he’d do it but he’s not leaving us after 1 season.

I mean they just extended it less than a full month ago. I don’t see them changing their mind about that already. I’m sure they would have known there is a good chance he wouldn’t stay at BL beyond this season as there are other clubs looking at him. Even Bayern have him on their list.

Alonso looks very good but this is only his first full season in charge of big club, his only other experience being in charge of Real Sociedad B. To ditch Carlo for him would be a bold move for RM.

At most they might have a word with Xabi and ask him to wait but aside from that, unless Real bomb in the second half of the season, I think there is very little chance RM change tack and bring him in.

I’m not a mind reader but I’ve read Ange’s book, I watched everything there was to see on YouTube prior to his appointment and I’ve read most of his interviews so I’m actually basing my opinion on something other than blind optimism or popularity points. Judging by the way he’s managed his career, and if I put myself in Ange’s shoes, I think he’d go if the opportunity is there for him.

Moving from Celtic to the Premier League was a major step up. No one disputes that. But what makes moving from Tottenham to Liverpool the same kind of step up?

klopp told the Liverpool Board he was going in November. This announcement has been stage managed as presumably will be his replacement, they have had plenty of time. If Ange had been showing any signs of moving on Levy would know about it as there is still over 3 years on Ange’s contract. We wouldn’t be buying the players to back Ange the way we are if there was any doubt.
