Really looking forward to some attacking football. Ready to fall in love with my team again - I hope this is the sliding doors timeline where we finally get a bit of luck. Welcome Ange!

I don't ever really post on this forum but have been around for a long time (despite my name being 'kid' I'm a ripe old 27 now) but I can't help but share the same sentiments as my fellow Aussie Spurs fans.

Everyone has already said what has needed to be said but this is an absolute fever dream of the highest degree. The guy is the real deal. Proved doubters wrong where ever he has been.

Obviously the Prem (in particular the Spurs job) is one of the toughest in world football but man am I excited to see him grab the bull by the horns and get this club playing some football again.

Wasn’t my first choice, may not actually have been in my top 4-5, however, he’s got the gig, thank god we can move on from that drawn out process, and everything I’ve seen/read over the last few days does make me think I perhaps underestimated him initially.

Two interesting quotes in the announcement.
“Ange brings a positive mentality and a fast, attacking style of play. He has a strong track record of developing players and an understanding of the importance of the link from the academy - everything that is important to our Club.”
If this quote is genuinely the way we are going to approach things going forward, then I am a lot more positive than I was this time last week. The way we arse about with signings, I’d be much happier to see more players coming through from within to save transfer drama and actually build a sense of belonging and unity. The bravery of football and bit about developing players I’d everything we loved about Poch, but he wasn’t great at academy promotion, if Ange can bring that to the table also, then that really is great.
Secondly, his backroom staff to be announced in due course. There was a lot of talk about how he doesn’t take staff with him, but if we were just sticking with Mason, Wells etc as his staff, no need to delay, they are already here.

I will be fully supportive of the new gaffer, he has a blank slate, time to go out and impress. Looking forward to some joined up thinking between Ange and Munn, hopefully they make Spurs an enjoyable experience again, a side to be proud of (ignoring the Nuno flashbacks there).
COYS.

Now this is done, we as fans need to back him. Up until a few days ago I was still hoping we would appoint JN but now we have Ange, I'm fully behind him. I knew nothing about Poch before we signed him, fast forward to 2023 and I was so upset that he joined the Chavs.

Welcome Ange

4 year contract is a massive show of support for him from the club. I really, really hope this means that the club/Levy intend to back him and give him all the support he needs.

Not only was his Brisbane Roar side still the best team to ever play in the A League but is still one of my favorite teams to have watched.

If it was a toss up between watching the phoenix or watching the roar I’d choose the roar every time.

an A League coach to manage Spurs, well they got the best of the lot.

fucking great day for Australian football.
Have i mentioned i love kiwi's?

I wonder how much he’s on in comparison to Conte and Jose? A lot less I suspect which may make it less of a risk.

1st July? When are players due back for pre season?
Probably around that date, definitely not much early give the late end to this season. First few days is always fitness evaluations anyway rather than out on the training pitch doing drills.

Edit: just seen Burnley are back in today for some work and then another week or so off and then back in again properly. Seems crazy - although it’s weeks since they secured the title. You’d think they risk burnout.
