They will want vengeance

but so will we for our Brum performance, regardless of what happens in the PSV game.

The Curbishly plunge is in full effect. I think we might even beat them with Zokora and Kaboul as our CB pairing.

i cant see us beating west ham on sunday now...

Strange thing to say.

Just checked the match stats on the Guardian report. Liverpool had 21 shots (11 on target) and the Spammers 2 (2). Curbishley continues to start Can't Control ahead of the Blonde Bombshell. Why?

Bent plus £10m.

And if Bent had been first-choice from the start of the season (only Spurs, I think, could shell out £15m+ for a third-choice striker) and had got into the groove and was whacking them in wholesale, would you be asking this question?

Sure, Torres is by far the classier footballer, but as a goalscorer plain and simple Bent has proven his worth.

Me, I'm glad we aren't totally dependent on one striker.

What would we be had we spent the Bent money on Torres?

Why would Torres have gone to Spurs in the summer? He turned down some of Europe's biggest clubs to join Liverpool, particularly because of Benitez and their Spanish players. I doubt he could have been persuaded to go elsewhere.

would he have been as effective having been sat on the bench behind keane and berbatov?

you cannot compare Bent's performances with a striker who plays week in, week out. It's BULLSHIT.

Defoe, Bent and Mido are just 3 examples in recent times of being proven goalscorers who have then struggled with a bit=part role. Coincedence? no.

I can't see that Torres would have been on the bench at Spurs though.

Seriously Keane is a good player but if you had Keane, berba & Torres to choose from he would definitely be the 3rd choice.

The other 2 are exceptional.

He's not saying Torres would be on the bench - he's saying that Bent has been and if Torres was in that situation he'd struggle too.

This is all irrelevant, because Torres would never have signed for us anyway.

I'm not saying he would be on the bench, it was more a 'put torres in bent's position' kinda vibe.

OK, put Keane behind Torres and Berbatov and see if he's as effective as he has been for the past year and a half...

West Ham were poor, if they play 1 up front with Boa Morte on Sat, we'll definatly win!

I was more annoyed at what it did to my fantasy league score.

My mate had Reina and Gerrard and Torres as his captain - I was a close 2nd behind him at the top of our mini league and then last night took his gameweek total up to about 85 points.

Bugger.
