if he had the frame of gomes he would already be considered the best goalie in the world and one of the best of all time, at 26. he has a certain mentality and spirit that eludes so many keepers, almost, leading by example, a quiet calming confidence but so bright and alert and his anticipation is quite something. definitely genetic, his ancestors must have been game keepers or something similar.

top,top, goalie.

Lloris is amazing. His bravery is worthy of admiration, however I fear he may get injured from a collision in the future. Maybe he can bulk up a bit to become even more sturdy in challenges.

Looks very good so far.

My only concern though is that both Gomes and Robbo were initially (and rightly) hailed as our best keeper since Jennings, only for the errors to creep in and things to fall apart. Personally I think Gomes' second season was the finest a spurs GK has had in the 20 years I've followed the team.

That said, I understand Lloris is lauded for his mental strength, and he's withstood enough pressure to win over 40 France caps. Hopefully this should see him in good stead to cement his position in the team for a long while.

Fantastic keeper, feel so confident with him in goal. if you replaced Daws and Caulker today with Kabs and Verts i just wouldnt have imagined us conceding. Its pretty close to a "dream team" style defence. Gomes and Robbo were both fantastic shot stoppers but Gomes was a flapper and Robbo couldnt save anything hit from outside the area. Lloris seems to have no weaknesses and even when he makes a mistake, he seems to be more determined and comes back strong. a fantastic trait for a keeper.

His save just before their goal was top drawer and the way he controls the box is fantastic. very excited to say the least.

I listened to the game on the radio today as I was in work. The commentators were waxing lyrical about him saying how he's got to be regarded as the best in the league at the moment. Also saying how surprised they were with how commanding and strong he is, very unlike continental keepers coming into the PL and he was nullifying Sunderland's only chance of an equaliser as he was on top of the set piece exchange. All stuff we know but nice to hear it from the press who could easily mention a couple of his kamikaze rushes out he's made in his earlier games and put pressure on him for their favourite hell boy.

Also just watched espn goals and would like to say what a good initial save he made in Sunderland's goal, great reflexes just unfortunate it fell into the path of their player which he could have had no control over.

Have to say I'm super excited to get FM13 as he's always a beast and never landed him in the past, can't wait to start with him!

Had very little to do recently but always does what he has to with authority. The first big punch he made second half, from the corner was absolute boss. I think it went out on the full at the halfway line, makes you wonder what Michu felt like after the Swansea game.

The thing is, he looks like somebody that is still waiting to really stamp his authority on his defence too. Cech of old was an incredible goalie but even without the spurstacles on, I can't think of a better keeper in the league on current form. Hart is close but having a bit of a dip.

Short of picking up a stud striker, Lloris was the one I wanted more than any other player available. He's got all-timer written all over him. Absolute steal of a transfer by the club. Hope he's with the club for a decade.

Fantastic confidence wonderful purchase very pleased with Lloris... AVB deserves credit for how he handled the goal keeper transition too.

I've wanted us to sign Lloris for a couple of years now, for me he is one of the top 3 or 4 keepers in the world, we've seen in the last few games how he comes for crosses and commands the box either catching them or clearing them to safety with punches, a true definition of a sweeper keeper too as he is so confident with his feet and rarely just rushes with kicking it away in a panic, more often than not he'll effortlessly chip it half the length of the pitch to a team mate, from that point of view he reminds me of Robbo in his pomp before the press vilified him for that Croatia goal.

He's the best goalkeeper in the league and right up there with the best in the world. We're so lucky to have him. I'd put him forward as our best signing of my lifetime (I'm 21).

I've got to say the point blank save that fell to them for the first goal was amazing, it's just a shame that 1) It fell to O'Shea and 2) Walker had put us in that situation in the first place.

He's growing by the game. Top Signing.

So much more confident with him in the team, you can tell that the defence are much more relaxed knowing that they have a keeper who comes off his line to sweep up.

I don't think in my lifetime have I seen such a good keeper who's good at everything playing for this club, he's that good.

As a little gaggle of us said in the summer - this was the crucial signing for the club. All top teams have an excellent keeper and striker. The striker thing is far more difficult and a once in a decade aligning of the footballing planets meant we had a chance for the keeper. We'll not get the 10-12 points a top striker can win you (unless Ade can refined hid form of last season) but I welcome the pts Lloris will bring us.

Also chuffed to hear Brad has a future at the club and not just as a player.

IMO come the end of the season Hugo will be rated as the best keeper in the PL, different class

Just seen MOTM, what a save before O'shea's goal. Seems odd to applaud a keeper when he's conceded a goal but at least he gave our defence a chance to make up for the first mistake.

He is a fantastic keeper, he seems quite humble too which is always good and being just 26 we have plenty of years left in him.
