Yes i know it's the Daily fail but they do get the odd piece of infomation correct on certain occasions so let's just praye this article is accurate. I personally see no reason why they would make this up and i would certainly hope Levy is doing everything in his power to get Bale to commit long term. I think CL qualification is key and if Levy can convince Bale that we will improve even more in the summer with signings then i expect Bale to sign a new improved contract. I would rather have Bale sign long term than get 60million for him any day of the week. When often do you have a superstar like a Gareth Bale? He is priceless in my opinion and we should be looking to build with him, not without him...plus he loves AVB  COYS!!!

He'll be here next season, I'm pretty confident he will be anyway - providing we finish in that top 4.

There is no doubt we'll really prosper commercially from his rising profile and continued development if he stays. I hope its true and we are preparing a big fat pay rise.

I was thinking about this, if he was to stay with us he has to get a new deal and not only that we have to give him a good wage packet.

He is playing like the best player in the league and yet is being payed less than the likes of Torres, Podolski and half the city team

150k a week should do it. He's going to be here next year since we are most likely going to et CL, so if he signs a new 4 year deal we can expect a couple more seasons. Then a whopping fee.

It would have to be longer than 4 years as he has about 4 years left now

I think we've got him for one more year, too. Unless we can match his ambition after that, and I doubt we can, I suspect he's off for bigger and better things. Who can blame him?

I don't believe in the 8 million pound a year offer.

Why not? New TV deal next year should be worth 30-40m a season more. Plus likely CL football + 45m in tv and gate.

If we turn over 160m now, we could do 240 next year.

We have to challenge for the league next year to keep him IMO. Considering we have lost 1 in 16, we may do that.

He has done so much for us that I'd not begrudge him even leaving next year if he does it in a civil manner.

yep. he's such a humble and talented guy that I want to see him get the glory he deserves, even if its not at Spurs.

Makes Levy sense. If Bale's on a fat contract he'll be able to keep him happy for a year, maybe two, before demanding a massive fee when he inevitably joins one of Barca or Madrid.

We can't just offer him £150k a week. Levy knows that even the best player we've had in years can't have that much more going into his bank than everyone else. It'll be £120k at max.

If bale carries his current form over to next season and with 2 key signings as well as getting rid of the scrap: Huddlestone, Dempsey, Bentley and Gomes(who is doing very well apparently), we should then be looking very good for a title challenge tbh

i hope we keep him. Its once in a life time opportunity to deliver brand 'Tottenham Hotspur' to the world and help bed down the stadium development.
