Interesting that we all agree he's done a great job but he hasn't actually won a lot at Liverpool in his eight years.

It really underlines how difficult it is to create sustained success in the Prem.
And that success can't always just be measured in quantity of trophies won.

Carlo has signed a new contract.

If Liverpool's next manager isn't one of Nagelsmann or Alonso I'll be very surprised. But for me it's 50/50 who they go for.
Forgot about Nagelsmann. Wonder if he had some insider news considering he only signing that contract with the national team until the summer…

Fucking annoying that the timing is perfect for them to get Alonso and just carry on.

Maybe; worth pointing out that Alonso doesn't play the same style as Klopp, and Liverpool have just rebuilt their midfield in Klopp's image (IMO). Not sure it would be as seamless as we think.

Nagelsmann probably the surer bet, but, either way, once Pep has f'ked off, we're winning the lot.

As much as I hate his gormless face, it will be weird seeing Liverpool without him. Like it was Fergie and United and Wenger/Arsenal. They'll probably go all out for the league this year even more so now. Interesting he told the club in November, though.

Just in the bank. The clerk asked if I like football, I said yes. She told me Klopp is leaving and she wants to cry.

Not the way I was expecting to find out.

Hopefully this will give them the impetus to smash the Chavs in the League Cup final

this is my main concern, they'll be even more like rabid dogs until the end of the season, to give the gurner a good send off. If it means the scum end up with nothing though, i'm sure i'll live with it.

I'm fine with it, tbh. Sure they're annoying as fuck but I'll let them have this one.

As long as we beat them in the FA Cup final

Away from football I think he is just a really nice human being. His competitiveness can sometimes rub other fans up the wrong way but I have no doubt he is a decent person on a personal level. He has produced a truly historic era for Liverpool and will go down as one of the greatest managers in Premier League history. Fair play to him for taking a break.

Lets hope this motivates Ange and the team to push on even further.

How can we convince their American owners that Jose is the best option?

Smart move, he's seen the impact Ange is going to have on the league and is getting out while the going is good  :bag:

Oh well... bye, Jurgen, have fun.

I feel sorry for the Liverpool fans. I mean, they're the worlds biggest victims when it comes to every minor bump in the road, this will have them declaring the end of civilisation.

Kickstarter to fund the tissues they'll need for all the crying?

WTF, completely out of nowhere this.

Seems a bit strange with the timing and why he's felt the need to announce it in the middle of the season
Normally means the press have got wind, and given him the opportunity to make the announcement.

Female caller to Talksport in tears…..Said…you lot are prattling on about cricket and Jürgens gone.
in a right state. He did the same thing at Dortmund but they had blown up and were down the league .

I think he’s probably going before he burns out again. Isn’t that what happened at Dortmund and why things went a bit sour there.

Seems a good decision to me. Professionally and personally.

It would probably take him longer to fuck them up than his last few appointments too.

Had a quick look at RAWK for a laugh and one of the first posts I see is this:

'It's been an amazing ride and Jurgen will rightly go down as perhaps the greatest manager we've ever had. A legendary coach and an even better human being.'

I'll leave that with no comment.
