Only thing I’m questioning is why didn’t we see any lines drawn on the var image, if it was just a communications fuck up?
The protocol is to only draw the 3D lines when it is close or you are changing the decision. In this case since the VAR thought he was confirming a goal that the official drawing of the lines was uncessary and the 2D lines we see in the video was enough.

I still fear that this game will be replayed... Purely cos it's Spurs and this thing can only happen to us! This week at work I've received more grief than I would if we'd have lost the bloody game!

Never mate. Game won't be replayed.

Unless it effects your job status, give it back to them ten fold. Shameless settings. I go all out with people who mouth off to me, but only those.

I know good Liverpool fans, and I'm good with them, but the bad ones I go all out.
It could bite you in the arse but fuck it, make hay while the sun shines.

Lead story on bbc sport this morning (obviously…) Sally Nugent Liverpool fan says they could be talking about it all season if Liverpool are close (to the title). They then move on to who is the best bond and she says they aren’t allowed to choose as they are the bbc and they are impartial… if this was a spurs goal at the weekend it would already be yesterdays chip paper

Listening to the audio synced with the game, there's no way they could've sensibly stopped the game and gone back under the current rules - a whole new passage of play had begun and ended by the time they realised what had happened.

Still, funny shit that it didn't happen to us, really - I'd say I think we've had our fair share of bad decisions, but I also expect most fans feel like that.

Outcome won't involve any extra points or goals or replays, because that's all very mad, it'll just be a review of the process and someone gets suspended for a while.

Replaying the game would change football forever and basically make the sport unplayable as there are incorrect calls in every game. Absolutely no chance it's replayed.

It won't, but this should really all die a death now.
After already looking fucking daft, Liverpool can't really do anything now short of legal action (ridiculous) or demanding a replay (absolutely fucking ridiculous).

I don't think I will ever forget these glorious last few days.

That’s true - normally watching on tv you see the freeze frame of the lines drawn on screen with an ‘offside’ or ‘onside’ beneath it.

I know because I always find it funny how it flashes on screen then you get the commentator slowly saying ‘I think this might be offside’ about 10 seconds after we all already know it’s offside from the freeze frame.

Wonder why we didn’t see it this time. Was it because it was such an obvious onside they didn’t feel they needed to, or maybe because they came to the decision so quickly?
Yeh pretty much this bit. They drew the first line from Romero's back foot and thought (rightly) that it wasn't necessary to complete the whole process as it was such an obvious onside. Their problem came in not actually telling the on-field ref what they'd seen.

It should have died a death on Saturday evening, but...Liverpool.

While initially I don't agree with PGMOL releasing the audio seemingly caving in from the bullying tactic of Liverpool, I'm glad they did now. Not only has that highlighted the whole issue to be purely a human mistake, it also shows how stressful the environment the refs are in handling all these in such a short time under the watchful eyes of millions in real time. They are after all just humans doing their jobs and perhaps they should be appreciated and being showed more support, instead of being accused as undermining sporting integrity by the fucking shit of a shameless club.

Liverpool have embarrassed the PGMOL, the refs, and many others in the running of the VAR system. All because of one fucking statement from them behaving like a spoilt brat. They should be made to apologise now for their inferred allegations. I have no doubts the refs must have suffered abuses as well from their fans in both online and offline.
When the millions watching include a few thousand unhinged Liverpewel fans in the stadium, that makes it even tougher for the officials.

Sounds like they’re backtracking a little now, after threatening ‘escalation’ and their ‘range of options’

And this pretty much extinguishes any hope of legal action.

Any news on MacAlister for his IG post insinuating the ref being the 12th man for us? Would really want some punishment thrown at him for that, especially he has since deleted that post.
