Singapore bro. We got really crazy Man U and Liverpool fans here. Always good banter between them.

Usually they will do a big screening at some public place when Man U and Liverpool meet and gather both sets of fans.... But think it was pretty tough for red Monday. Since the match was at 3am. Lol!

It might be too late to save his hair but Man U didn't beat Liverpool.

I read this on a thread on rawk about improving the atmosphere, and it sounds like this particular tourist met his first authentic Scouser:

"I`m not from England. I`m not sure I`m a tourist though. Been to watch Premier League games about 25 times. I get a lot of the stuff that is said about tourists, but I still want to add something: On Monday I was at the Kop. Thought it started pretty well atmosphere wise, but faded. I was standing next to two friends of one side. We were singing and trying to make as much sound as we could. Never took a single photo. However, I had this Scouser next to me, maybe about 60 years old, and he annoyed the hell out of me. Probably a season ticket holder. First of all, before the game, when there were some songs going on, he was standing backwards talking/shouting to his friend. Never taking any interest in singing. He never sang a word during the whole game. What he did though, was to moan from the first minute of the game. "That`s fucking shite", "you stupid twat" and so on. I was thinking this is during a start of a season where there has been a feel good factor and the team is doing well. It was about players who has played really well too. For instance Firmino who he said should "stop his fucking trickery". And so on and so on. He sounded like a big fan of hoofball. "Hoof it will ya". When he wasn`t shouting it, he was mumbling it to himself like he had tourettes. To me it seems like this guy had made his mind up before the game. He was there to moan and poor out his anger at something. Personally he struck me as a total c*nt of a man with a crappy knowledge of the tactics of football. I usually speak to people next to me at games, even if I don`t know them. Not this guy though, because I couldn`t stand his attitude."

To be fair that could be any ground. I've experienced that more than enough times down the Lane. Some fans are just wasting their money and contributing nothing good.

Apologies if off topic but I read something quite interesting the other day (but can't find a link to it) that went into the circus behind the football industry and how (for a large group of fans) the most boring part of football is actually watching the game...

There is a large proportion of people who actively dislike watching a game of football but love to talk about a team, join in the banter of taking the piss out of opposing teams and how rubbish players are because of x, y, z, etc... yet sit them infront of a normal game and their attention will drift to the point where they're not watching or taking in anything that happens on the pitch.

Made me think about this place and the levels of joy / happiness (or lack of) you find in the match threads compared to this or the West Ham threads.

I am the opposite to be honest, I love football, everything about football other than the shit that has nothing to do with it, the "culture" as some call it, basically a bunch of pissed twats talking about utter drivel and then sit there the entire game just talking rather than watching.

I guess I am more analytical, I watch games like a manager would watch them.

Lol... That was years ago. Haven't seen him much. It wasn't like he was a teen or someone in this 20s, he's a 45 year old father of 2. One day juz saw him with a red scarf on his head where his hair use to be....

Then I realise, Liverpool lost the day before. Lol

Hmm I'm into more the culture side of it but I actually watch the game rather than pay to have a chat to some random person in the stands. I also don't really get pissed. I don't enjoy watching us though. Too much pressure.
