It probably doesnt warrant a thread of its own, but I couldnt find an appropriate one in which to ask the question..

Anyone know what the state of play of Walker is? I know he had an op, but I recall talk of him being available 2-3 weeks into the season.

Has their been any news?

I know he had a set back about a month or so ago, but no idea how long it put him back

The Tottenham and England right-back Kyle Walker has undergone lower abdominal surgery, his club have announced.

The 24-year-old has not played for Spurs since March and no timescale was put on his recovery in a brief statement on Tuesday evening.

“Kyle Walker has undergone lower abdominal surgery,” it read. “The England right-back’s pre-season preparations were disrupted by the abdominal injury and the decision to have surgery was taken following further medical assessment by specialists.”

The north London club had initially hoped to avoid surgery but resorted to sending the player for an operation in a bid to fix the long-standing problem.

“Kyle is good some days. On other days he has a bad feeling,” Spurs’ manager, Mauricio Pochettino, said last month. “We believe he may recover soon but we need to be calm with him because it is an injury that he has had for five months.”

Found that dated 2nd September in google

I have to confess but I forgot all about him. That must be a testament to both Naughton and Dier's performances so far this season.

I've slagged Walker off on many occasions and I'm not sure he'll ever develop the football intelligence necessary to become a top class player, but we've missed him badly imo.

We really lack pace in the side and he has the ability the stretch teams.

Pochettino says it's impossible to say when Walker will be ready to return to training or play.

I think walker is superb. I reckon the system is built for a player of his attributes.

That said, naughton and Dier have been very good.

Very pleasing to be able to say this - agree wholeheartedly.

'He's had the problem for 5 months' - I do hope we've not done/got another Dembele 'he's had the problem for ages, we didn't elect to have surgery, and now he's got it forever and will have to manage it' situation.

This season's Lamela by the sounds of it. But at least we know what the issue is.

We’ve missed his pace and power big time. One of our few players that can compete at the very top level

Bet BC's happy though - Kyle's one of his 'brain dead morons' crew.

Not what you would call specific, but does give the impression that he is on his way back yo training with the squad;

Good news he's back in the gym - but he's been out for 5 months and has had no pre-season, so it could be a little time yet.

We need pace at right back. Walker cant come back soon enough. Think we'd play better with pace at both full back positions.

We need pace everywhere and don't have nearly enough of it. Obviously pace without end product isn't ideal, but we need to be able to stretch teams. At the moment opponents can push up on us, knowing we're not going to get in behind them too often and they can also sit in like West Brom, knowing we have difficulty breaking teams down.

You're right though, pace out wide and from the fullbacks is crucial for us since Poch doesn't want to play with any traditional wide men.

I don't believe so. Difference here is this is likely muscle (likely a hernia), while Dembele's is the set of ligaments that suffer more wear and tear than any other in the body for regular people, and he's a professional footballer (and a big one, so all the more weight on them).

I think it's "impossible to say" simply because it's entirely individual as to when the muscle will grow back, and furthermore to an extent such that he can play on it. If it's an "indirect inguinal hernia," it also depends on when his intestines fasten themselves back into his abdominal cavity, which no one can possibly predict.

Long story short, I don't think this one is as bad as it may seem with the information publicly available.
