Great manager, coach and even better person. A true legend and in my opinion second only to Sir Bill.

Happy Birthday Keith.

In another era you would have provided us with an even richer legacy rather than having to walk away.

Wonderful manager who have us wonderful memories.
It still pains me that he left with such a sour taste in his mouth.

Best Tottenham manager in my lifetime by a mile , His spurs side played some outstanding attacking football and it created an amazing atmosphere at the lane , still remember watching Hoddle hit a 35 yard screamer in the top corner in the milk cup vs Fulham at my first ever game as a 6 year old in 1980 ... I have been hooked ever since, Happy Birthday Keith , Absolute legend

Burkinshaw on Glenn Hoddle

"Glenn was the best technical player I came across. One of my biggest disappointments was that England never really gave him the credit he was due. I think they should have picked the team around him. He was such a gifted player and fantastic for us."

--------------------

I was at the Lane when Burkinshaw dropped a young Hoddle. Picked the technically horrible John Pratt ahead of him in a 4-4-2, with Glenn on the bench. This was in the days of one sub only.

We were playing some shite club and either drawing or losing 1-0. Gerry Armstrong was playing as one of our two strikers, running his heart out as always but nothing was working for him. The Shelf was baying for Hoddle and Burkinshaw put him on up front for the last 30 minutes.

Glenn was absolutely brilliant, playing with real fire in his belly. I'm pretty sure we won. Afterwards I remember Burkinshaw being quoted as saying: "I didn't know Hoddle could play that well with his back to goal."

I'm not sure Hoddle ever played up front again but his control, link up play and vision in that half hour cameo as a striker was like Berbatov at his finest.

Good memories.

The most technically gifted player we've ever had.
