We haven't made a decent signing in two years.
Wanyama?

Wanyama?
One of the best signings anyone has made in the last two years. Would improve any top team in the PL.Wanyama?
Can you keep it down? I'm trying to be melodramatic.
I like this post, but I'm not having a meltdown. I just don't understand the mentally of people who aren't frustrated with the clubs dealings summer. You can still be a supporter and call this summer what it is - a shitshow. The window is still open - I can assure you that if we still have not signed anybody by the time it ends I will join you in having the most ridiculously over the top meltdown of epic proportions that may cause me to enter the street and get arrested IN REAL LIFE.
it's us all over unfortunately. because we almost never just pay the required fee/wages we always have to serenade/cajole/romance a player for ages into joining and there are always a million things that have to align in order for us to prevail.
for the clubs who have more money than god and don't give a shit about sustainability it's always easy and transfers can be done in hours if need be.
just goes to show that even though we're punching way above our station in the league and on the pitch, in the transfer dealing stakes we're still in the minor leagues.

Luckily for you...Fuck that we all know what happened. I don't have to be Sherlock Holmes to work it out.
So you're saying it's back on?!?!?!?!?!??
Yep, and Chelsea signing him as well. I'd stick Mane in there too, even though he was at a higher price.Leicester's signing of Kante for €8m is a little better. In fact - our own signing of Alli for £5m tops it. But given that Wanyama was already premiership proven and the fee we got him for it was a fabulous deal.
None of them were top names or coveted by other clubs when we signed them.
That is all true, but the argument we have no money just doesn't wash anymore. We've received £75m in transfer fees this window. There is a record TV deal and finishing 2nd landed us a lot of dough.
It's abundantly clear that money is simply being invested in the stadium and whilst some may think that's the right thing to do, I think it's a risky strategy because it risks undermining everything we've done on the pitch.
Players will soon get wise to it and get itchy feet. Ultimately it's what happens on the pitch that matters. The new stadium is great, but the novelty will soon wear off.
Just ask Arsenal fans wether they preferred the days of Highbury and league titles or playing at the Emirates.
