Kane is already better than me

Kane reminds me a lot of Sheringham but it's too early to say he's out done him. Sheringham won it all whereas Kane hasn't won anything yet. The big point is Kane hasn't peaked yet, he's only 22 an age at which Teddy hadn't won anything either. Kane can go on to become the better player but his best years are still ahead, I just hope when he's 27 or 28 we can put really strong team around him.

Teddy's not in my good books right now. Allegedly, according to some media reports (can't remember which!), he advised Kane to leave Spurs for a bigger club as soon as possible! Numpty.

Doesn't seem to square with everything else that's been said, including that article.

Personally I expect Kane will be at our club for most of the rest of his career, but like Gerrard and Lampard will leave at end of career around 2025. But a lot will depend on how things go before 2019/2020 season. The new stadium will be built, our current team would have matured (and hopefully still mostly be together) and we'll have finished off the training centre. If we have broken into top 4/won a Cup or two, have a good manager and board is willing to make serious investment in the squad around that time, 2020-2030 should be the greatest decade in Spurs history. But if things have fallen apart by that point, wouldn't blame him for finding another club.

Until then, he'd be foolish to leave unless things have gone very wrong and I doubt he will.

He's been more prolific yes.

But Teddy was a hell of a football player. Kane has a long way to go before I'd mention them in the same breath and I'd still take teddy in his prime right now.

People forget that Harry was seen by everyone as a number 10 only 2 seasons ago. He has developed his game so well that he can now adeptly play the number 9 role and has a 1 in 2 strike rate in the premier league. Most Importantly Harry remains an extremely clever and skilful player and he would still be as good as a 10 as he is a 9. Teddy is right - Harry has more about him and is way off his prime. Frightening.

Just watch some highlights of sheringham. Sadly most of it is man United but the way he made it look easy was his skill.
As amazing as Kane has been a lot of his goals are strange, almost as if he's sold his soul for goals and they all just go in.
When teddy scored you could see the trained, practiced and deliberate skills. And he was, like kane, so much more than just a goal scorer.

Teddy was an incredible player. Not only a natural goal scorer but had great vision for what was going on around him. Kane has a long way to go before he reaches Teddy's level. Don't get me wrong Kane is doing brilliantly and if he keeps progressing he will hopefully get there.

In that respect, Kane is more like Lineker, who seemed to fluke a lot of goals. Except Gary did it consistently over his whole career including leading the England line to the World Cup semi's. Hopefully Kane will do the same!

Went to see Stevenage vs Accrington yesterday (my Dad's a Stanley fan). Was quite weird hearing the number of expletives leaving Teddy's mouth directed at his players. So used to him being such a nicey-nicey guy. I guess we all change when the whistle blows.

The goal v Southampton was something I've never seen in teddy's locker. The potential is there to surpass him.
