The perfect job and club to kill him off, if he's tickers having problems now, just wait til he's spent a year at the club, he'll be on life support.

If hes coaching hes not going to have to deal with the pressure of being a manager. All these health nonsense people are saying is irrelevant in a coaching role.

ignoring his poor health, I'd be hugely surprised by this. He's never been a coach in my eyes, more a manager.
His success came with a direct Wimbledon side in the 90's, football's changed a lot, even since then.
Really can't see it.

It does seem a bit odd to me. But what do I know about running a football club? Saying all that he was steering Newcastle to safety before his latest health setback.

How many coaches do we need??

Harry Redknapp
Clive Allen
Joe Jorden
Kevin Bonds
Les Ferdinand
Tim Sherwood
Jamie Redknapp (apparently)
Joe Kinnear

Staff against players match would be fun to watch

I thought Sir Les, Sherwood and Redknapp Jr only did a couple of days a week? They're not fulltime are they?

JK knows the game inside out and, like any decent ex-pro, has a lot to offer the youngsters who are still learning the game. He's also a great character to have on your side. Most importantly for me, he knows all about Spurs and the legendary ethos that drove Bill Nick and the "Tottenham Way". Bringing these ex-players in suggests to me that Harry's trying to rebuild the club in that image, which can only be applauded.

I suspect that if true it will be working in the academy, with one of the youth age groups perhaps.

To be fair as I recall he took over a direct Wimbledon, kept the aggression held onto the directness but took them onto a much more passing game on the ground.

I'm convinced he would have been around the prem a long time if he hadn't had his heart attack after that nobody would employ him as manager, Newcastle did because they had no option and he did a good job to get them to safety, they would not be going down if he had stil been around. Sadly it turned out everybody was right as his heart gave out again but make no mistake he is a good coach and manager, if this is true it's a good move.

Actually thinking about it he may be looking at the reserves allowing our Clive to have a much more direct role with the first team, I'm sure Mr Redknapp wants that to happen.

We haven't got Jamie R to agree yet—and there was a very clear suggestion that he'd be working with kids at the Academy once it's up and running, not with the squad. I'm pretty sure you're right about this, and it can only be a good thing. It's a pity Graham Roberts seems to have monumentally pissed off everybody at the club—Robofan reckoned there would be a mass walk-out if he came back in any capacity. I'm not quite sure what he's done, but he's certainly done it.

Graham Roberts is as much of **** off the pitch as he was on it. He's a very dislikeable person. He is completely two faced and if he wasn't so stupid would be a real bad guy. I'm sure the THFC staff who have been the target of his ill-conceived vitriol feel even stronger. In fact I think David Dein would be far far more welcome on the premises than Roberts. Remember this is the guy who once punched a woman and got caught stealing money when he was in Scotland.

I don't condone hitting women but my mates aunt knocked some bloke out in a pub because he bumped into her husband... So sometimes women deserve a punch as they can take liberties

Hope not. Know some people who work on the backroom staff of Luton Town, and they've told me in the past that Kinnear had very little time for LTFC's youth setup (which has produced the likes of Matt Taylor, John Hartson, Matthew Upson, Curtis Davies etc etc) and not considered a pleasant character around the club.

Great servant to Spurs in his playing days, but I'm not keen on him as a coach/staff member since his playing retirement, and I hope this doesn't happen.

I think Redknapp Jnr was going to join the youth team coaching staff, as for Joe Kinnear how concrete is his evidence cos' if its preceded by the words "Sky sports news understands" then I will safely say its a croc of shit.

Dan, what did GR get up to at spurs to cause so much animosity?

I don't know about the staff at the club, but I do know that every single Spurs fan I know who ever watched Graham Roberts play for us loves the man dearly.

As for Kinnear, why not. I have far more time for him than Sherwood and Ferdinand.

I can confirm that not every fan does.

I did say that I know. I know he has fallen out with Spurs big time, but I've seen him speak as if he were anythin other than a supporter of our club, and he seems to love Spurs as much as I do, even if I disagree with some of the things he said. Couple that with several years of tremendous performances as the rock of our side and you've got someone who deserves a lot of respect in my book.

It's now part of a package deal. When you renew your season ticket, you get a free coaching job at Spurs.
