That’s good. He’s a spectacularly mediocre keeper these days. I’d stick with Gazzaniga as back up. As long as the wages are low enough I’m fine with him as #3

Experienced - he’s actually won trophies and if Jose wants him- good enough for me. Could be good to have someone like that amongst the squad. Not fussed.
Coming to Spurs as a second or third keeper is presumably for the money.
He could be first choice in a lower division but they couldn't afford him.
Quite happy with Gazza and a young keeper preferably one of our own.
How come none of the ITK folks knew anything about this? Can’t have been a closely guarded secret that a medical was happening, and surely this move has taken a week or more to put together?
Jennings was great long after he left us for Arsenal. Even to this day I don't know why we sold him and he has even said he was surprised and disappointed that we did. A great goalkeeper played until he was forty and to me the best we ever had and I've seen them all from Ted Ditchburn through to LLoris.
Spurs sold Jennings because when he was injured, his back up Barry Danes was amazing, and given Jennings was around 32, management thought it was time to let Pat go. Sadly, Danes was brilliant until he got the full time job.Yep. That was my memory of Jennings too. (Then I wondered if, like much else, it's based on nostalgia)
I don't know how he's expected to live on that? He's on less money than his Burnley contract went from £50k p/w t o £35k p/w
I get it - you put Hart on the bench if you’re short of home grown players. But I’d still pick Gazzaniga over Hart if Hugo was injured
It should also be remembered that ITK pass on info that they are provided with in good faith and are not privy to every piece of transfer info going.Er, because it's hardly exactly groundbreaking news. The ITK's said early on we are looking at free transfers and loans, there are probably dozens of similar players we are/have talked to. I sincerely doubt Trix or Herc's bat phone would have lit up at 2am to tell then we are signing Joe fucking Hart

Board wouldn't give him the contract he was after especially as we were relegated. They thought at his age he only had one or two years left at the top level in him. They got that wrong because he went on to play for something like another 7 or 8 years.
He had also mentioned that he had asked the club for a loan to buy a house and the club refused. Arsenal gave him the loan when he joined them. Seems that this club has a history of screwing their legends.
Indeed & yet he still considers himself a Spurs man.
