Was reading a Guardian interview with JJ just now...

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2008/aug/30/premierleague.tottenhamhotspur1

JJ says, at one point...

"I'm only 24, which is still young, but I don't think of myself as one of the young lads anymore"

This confused me, as his publicised D.O.B is 18/02/83 - meaning he's twenty five, not twenty four! I know hes a professional footballer, but surely he knows how old he is?

Nice one trigger!

JJ should play in the hole, thats where he would excel. Play him and Bentley behind a lone striker and we'll see goals galore.

JJ gives pretty much the same interview every six months. The guy is all talk. I rate him much more highly than most people do on here, but he's forever talking about what we are going to do, why everything is better and how he's improved as a player. Yet I don't think he's developed much from the player who won PFA Young Player of the Year and was descridbed as the new Vieira. I can't be bothered to find previous interviews, but everytime he's been interviewed since we've signined him, he's said very similar things concerning his form and how the club is improving. For the last 6 months, in the media at least, he's lived off the form he showed around the time of the CC semi final, which won him a starting palce in the England team. This was a simply a good blip, in what otherwise was a pretty ordinary year for him on the pitch. Yet JJ thinks he's made a "major improvement." Give me a break!

perhaps the interviews are ''edited'' or ''fabricated'' with spurs using media contacts to gloss over form and generally sway and brainwash the public.. no , silly me, this could not be true..

For you to have a slight pop at JJ Joey, the guy should log in and listen lol.

I agree though. I might give him some latitude by suggesting he's been the one consistent in a midfield that wouldn't look out of place at one of Alton Tower's attractions.

To get some form going, as Defoe was crying out, players of his calibre need to be playing regularly and with players with whom he can develop understandings.

As it is, most of our players will show glimpses of their individual qualities but teamwork is a much more sought after skill.

as I've been saying all summer long (trademark DC_Boy :)) JJ is staying and JJ is playing

I'll be picking up 100 virtual cash on Tuesday for one JJ bet - shame no-one took me up on my offers that he'd start more games than either GDS or Lennon - despite loads of people on here having him transferred/dropped

strange that eh- that no-one wanted to take easy money off me - bets are still open BTW :)
