What would you do come January if you took over for AVB/Levy for the month?

Splash another 15-20 mill on a striker and hopefully ship Ade out?

Go balls out trying to sign another proven LB?

or will we sign this Romanian bloke and just collect ades funds and sit back hopefully in a decent league position with only a few minor injuries.

I think a lot of it depends on the progression of three young players: Rose, Fryers and Kane.

The signs for Rose have been generally good. I feel as though every game he has improved and you can't ask for much more than that from a young guy still working himself into a side.

Fryers has been generally impressive since that horrible match against Monaco where we played him and Livermore at CB. Since then, he's been pretty good and he's showing decent ability in defense and getting forward. He still needs refinement, but I think there are some really solid attributes to work with when you see his size, physical play and his surprising pace.

And as for Kane, it's interesting to see how he's been utilized thus far. It's a bit similar to how Morata was brought into the Real Madrid side. Despite not having signature "winger pace," Kane can still find space for himself out wide and it's a great way to introduce a young player to the pace and physicality of a whole new beast that is the EPL.

Should these three continue to show positive signs moving forward, we may very well be okay come January. I wouldn't be surprised if we added a more proven LB or maybe even a legit, young #9 talent. I think it'll all depend on how we are doing as a club in terms of our league position and obviously injuries. But, as of right now, with the signs starting to lean more towards the positive for the aforementioned three, maybe we will decide to stay put.

Can't vote on this one.

Wouldn't be against a backup LB. I think it is important for us to say to Rose "we are giving you the chance to be our 1st choice left back, take it."

Outside of that I'm not bothered about new signings right now.

Upon replacing Levy, I would:

1) Tell Baldini he has a month to convince Ljajic to come to Spurs, or I'd... I'd... make fun of his hair. But seriously, get him Franco. The lad would complete our attack.

2) Get a solid, young, top-flight proven LB to share minutes with Rose.

Depends on what is available in the difficult january market, and whether AVB feel we need strenghtening.
Think Levy will back him if he ask for players.

Pato and El Shaarawy as linked?
Long term Friedel replacement?
New left back? World star (Coentrao) or a left sided cover / Naughton replacement (Cresswell)?

Our squad is deep however we are playing Kyle Walker and Danny Rose in non games - so this are the areas we need to improve upon. We have Naughton, but if AVB feels he is not ready to play in cup games then we should be looking for alternatives. I like Naughton and he can improve into a great player at any stage like many others.
Coentreau would still be a real Coup, and maybe he will be licking his lips if we are sitting pretty come January.
I also think it is important we get rid of Ade or sort the situation out to bring in that all important 3rd choice in the Striker dept. Kane did great tonight, and he seems to be on an upward curve - so I hope this goes well, as he has the physical attributes to be a menace - the height we need as a change of tactics to our two short and stocky pilferers.
So not too much to be done - but with these tweaks - what could go wrong?

Like Snarf says it probably depends on the development of a couple of players. Rose in particular. Either way we need another left back I think but how well Rose does will determine whether we are buying a player to start games, or to be backup.

I'd like Sebastian Corchia to give competition to Walker.

Another attacking player would be a bonus.

I think another LB is a must. Whether he becomes first choice or cover. Naughton cannot do the job there. Fryers showed some good things today. I hope he gets a few more games to see how he comes along before the January window. If he cant do the job, then bring someone in. If he can, then use him and worse comes to worse, we can recall BAE.

Also, would like a top left winger to slot in next to Eriksen. I like Siggy and Chadli, but we could stand to bring in an upgrade there. Would be shocked if we can get an upgrade there though. Another striker would be welcome, but I think we should offload Ade and/or Defoe first before we sign one. We're not City. Cant really keep 4 strikers happy playing with a lone striker.

After those, we should really focus on scouting promising young players, foregin and domestic, and go in for some of them in the winter. I believe this is where Franco can pay huge dividends.

As for a Friedel replacement, I think we may try for a young keeper that can replace Friedel as 2nd choice keeper but wont make it too much a priority unless it's known that Brad is retiring.

It depends on how everyone does between now and then, what injuries we have and what weaknesses we develop/don't fix.

Assuming everything is pretty much the same as now, I would say

- a LB, either a good back up for Rose, a quality young player that can challenge Rose (e.g Shaw, Davies etc) or a quality player that would be a first choice LB (Coentrao, Alex Sandro etc).
- A Young SC with lots of potential, who either offers something different to the current crop or can play on the wings (especially LWF) or behind the striker. This is could wait to the summer though, so only if the right player becomes available at the right place.
- An experienced creative/flair player on loan, which could help for 2 reasons. 1. in those games out young attacking players are having trouble creating chances in pressure games against stubborn defences, they can use their experience to change the game. 2. their experience will help players like Holby, Eriksen, Lamela, Chadli etc develop. Someone like Ronaldinho.

Depends on where we will be. Could be in a position to really push on like the year we were third for a while. If that were the case, I'd like a big signing that could give us that push. The answer wouldn't be a LB alone.

A new left back. A part from that only buy if we let someone else go that we need to replace.

A leftback for sure. Wait until next summer to get another striker, probably Benteke when Villa go down...lol

a left back as competition for Rose and a young striker to replace Adebayor and that would be perfect for me

After so many changes last window... I'd day Rodrigo and a back up goalkeeper. That's all we need. Everyone else deserves a chance to settle in without further interuption.

No one, can't see realistic targets available for reasonable value for money that would actually improve our squad. Young competition for Rose a possibility, but no point buying just for sake of it.

Just a left back for me, if we can get this fucking stupid Adebayor situation sorted as well. What a fucking waste.

That wouldn't really happen considering Ljajic only moved to Roma last month (y)
