Hello all !

i was just thinking about Teddy Sheringham, who used to be one of our favourite players for a long time.

it was his dream to lead Spurs for winning a cup, i remember when we reached League cup final in 2002, he said something like ''winning a trophy with Spurs important than all of my cups with Man Utd even Champions league ! '' ..

it was his only chance as we were in dark days for too many years, i think this time our chances a bit better because our squad is much stronger and we are in good form.

Don't know if it's allowed or not as he is Colchester player now, but can Spurs get him as coach now and leaves his club ? it would be very good to see him on the bench in Wembley !

anyone can tell Levy that ? :)

I doubt its gonna happen. I mean Teddy loves to play. It would be far to frustrating for him sitting on the bench not being able to play!

So, let me get this straight. You want us to sack Juande and hire Teddy instead?

no, i know you meant why i involved 'lead' in the title .. so also Teddy meant it as a player not coach or Manager.

But my idea was clear about Teddy joing Ramos backroom staff and you can see that among the lines. Just to see him in on the bench in Wembley.

I was just being naughty. I'm sure he'll be there if he can, along with other Spurs greats. As a spectator, and maybe giving the lads a gee-up before the action starts.

But why select Teddy over any number of other Spurs blasts from the past?

To be honest, the team knows what it has to do. If anyone doesn't, he shouldn't be playing.

Teddy was, reputedly, the shit-stirrer-in-chief during Hoddle's reign, so my enthusiasm is seriously qualified.

It's been rumoured for a while, although those rumours may be bollocks. However, I don't think there's too much doubt that Hoddle's eccentricities pissed a lot of players off, and Teddy would have been the obvious focus of disaffection. You could compare Shearer at the Barcodes.

No love lost between Teddy and Hoddle, Teddy refused to attend 'special clincs' that were aimed at 'healing' his damaged leg, instead he spent the time at whats her name Smiths house, and he was often seen walking into and out of the house without his crutches. (Unless he spotted the paparazzi, and put on a heavy limp)!

Be quite a while yet, he's only 42 you know.
I have a sneaking feeling he's after Stanley Matthews record of retiring at 50.

Y'know I always though Teddy was a Spurs fan but when he went to the Spammers he turned round and said he supported then!?!?

Just who exactly does he support - I'm hoping it's Spurs and he was just saying that as players do when they sign for their new club and wanna make a good impression, but there was defo a quote somewhere and it's always bugged me when his name comes up... Hmmm...
