I saw the Athletico players brandishing them every time they were tackled in the Leicester game.
Why do authorities put up wit that sh1t? Its a cancer along side the diving IMO and needs to be eradicated ASAP. In fact, my suggestion is every imaginary wave actually deserves a real one.

Ive always thought its a load of old bollocks really....its no different to putting pressure on the ref verbally.
You tend to see it more in Euro/International matches when the players are more likely to speak different languages to the refs....and of all the things that need sorting out in the game, i wouldn't say this is a priority.

personally i find it much more cynical....its as if they practise the move where they use one hand to get up and the other to wave the card!

Anyone brandishing an imaginary yellow card should get an automatic booking themselves. That will cut this crap out overnight.

As i said, its no different to verbally putting pressure on the ref imo, hardly a "cancer".
As long as the ref is half decent, it has absolutely no effect on the game.

They are supposed to be cautioned it's the referee's fault for not carrying it out. I don't know if refs still do a pre match talk with teams to say what is and what isn't acceptable behaviour.

I think they're mainly flicking imaginary paintbrushes at the ref, and splattering him with imaginary multi-coloured paint. Stands to reason.

Has anyone ever "brandished" anything but an imaginary card?

Can't say I've heard that word used in any other context.

It's a bit like when they announce on the radio that a road is shut due to a nasty accident. Never heard of disruption caused by a nice accident.

What about when you see the managers doing it on the touch line! I'm certain I've seen it from Pep and Jose...it's embarrassing!
