I'll be the first to admit that the appointment of Pochettino left me frustrated and flat. I was hoping that we had learned from the appointment of AVB and would now move onto a proven winner with an international reputation to attract the very best players out there in Europe. My pick was Frank de Boer.

I'd be amazed if there are any Poch doubters out there (aside from Adiepf in Twitter land). But what I'd really like people to do is list the ways he has proven them wrong.

I felt that he lacked the charisma to motivate the high earners at the club. On this point I was possibly proven right initially, however his boldness to mold a receptive squad irrespective is admirable. Its clear that there were players who refused to buy into his ethos; Adebayor, Paulinho, Capoue, Lennon, Chiriches, Kaboul etc.

He cast these players aside and began to trust the players we all have had doubts with; Bentaleb, Mason, Rose, Kane etc. These players clearly showed the willing and he gave them the platform. Over time, their improvement has clearly been an influence on other squad members. Vertonghen, Walker, Dembele and Lamela have all gone up a gear over the past 12 months, mainly due to hard work and commitment.

I also felt that he would not be able to attract the players we needed to take the next step towards Champions League. Again, he hasnt actually proven me wrong as yet. However he has instilled a belief in me that those type of players are of little importance. He instead has incorporated Alderwireld, Son, Alli and Dier into the starting 11. All 4 players have improved us through the spine of our team. Its a great credit to Poch that all 4 have looked very ready for action in our system when he decided the time was right. Im not sure we would have been better of with the likes of Shaqiri, Bender and Konoplyanka for instance.

The emergence of Dier leads me onto my last Pochettino doubt. I lacked the belief that he had any real tactical awareness. I felt that he played a pressing game and as soon as that was exposed he would be stuck for ideas. He has however taken Eric Dier, a self confessed wannabe centre half, and developed a truly top class holding midfield player to fit his system. I really didnt see that possible and I struggle to find any like for like examples of this in the premier league. Certainly not to the level Dier has achieved in such a short space of time.
He has shown in games that fluidity is also important still and this allows for an attractive, technical style. But also incorporating a new found level of maturity. This was highlighted especially at the Emirates. Its because the players trust his tactics now, they trust themselves.

So anyways, I was wrong about MoPo. I was massively wrong.

But Humble pie has never tasted so sweet. COYS

Last season I remember saying that I was pleased that Pochettino was starting to build a team of young and home grown players, as it might actually bring some identity back to the club.

Well he's done exactly that. Before that I certainly had my doubts about him, but I'm pleased to say that I recognised the signs of the direction we could be going in, and I'm even more pleased that it has worked out that way. Whatever happens now, this team has a strong identity again, and is full of players that the fans can actually feel a genuine connection with. I'll hold one hand up as I thought he'd be a flash in the pan manager when he was first appointed, but I'll refrain from holding both hands up as I've been more positive than negative about Pochettino for over a year now.

The one thing that still concerns me is the possibility of burn out. We're about a third of the way through the season and some of our players look shattered. Whilst we look fantastic right now, is there still going to be universal praise if this approach to games proves to be unsustainable?

Admit it, you were hoping to get 60 odd cheap likes with this thread, the confessional "I was wrong but now I've seen the light" is always good for that.

I have the same fears as you, however I am hoping that he can work his magic with Bentaleb, Pritchard, Wimmer, Townsend etc. And of course that we help Harry Kane come January

I've got concerns over the mid-term as well. That we may burn out in the latter part of the season, but more specifically that Poch's approach may quicken the breakdown of peak condition. They say marathon runners only have so many marathons in them, that IMO is about mineral fatigue, ferritin burn out etc.

People know how I felt on here.

I have over 16000 "cheap likes" already. I'll save the fishing for January (y)

Honestly I wish some of the people that doubted him would just enjoy the ride. It's fun supporting spurs at the moment. Come and join us. I've made loads of bad calls. We are just fans on a message board who cares if you get stuff wrong?

I think its right to admit your wrongs. The fanbase of our club can be frustrating blinkered and stubborn on that front

I'd pretty much forgotten about Bentaleb and Pritchard. Squad depth is going to be vital if we're going to continue playing like that for a whole season.

Our fans are very knee jerk and emotional from the Kane will never make it to Poch is rubbish nonsense through to the current Lamela is the best player in the world and Mason not good enough groups. I like to consider myself pretty level headed so these kinds of mea culpa's are a rarity

Like anyone you get something's right and some wrong.

I was opposite of a lot of fans I thought Poch would do well but I can understand why people would have reservations.

Got right:

1 liked Poch from day one having seen what he did with the Saints and love the quick pressing game and use of youth players, thought it was a matter of time before he got us like that but is even better than I could have predicted.

2 Thought Kane in his first few game with us was a good player, that was at the end of not last season but the season before although he has obviously got better and better. Some people really hated Kane when he first came on the scene.

3. Thought Dier would do well in DM as he showed a lot of the skill set for the role last season in other positions and not surprised to see Alli doing well having watched him quite a bit with MK Dons.

So a lot less surprised than most Spurs fans at Kane, Poch, Alli, Dier doing well.

Got wrong

1 didn't think Lamela would make it being so inconsistent all the time. Wasn't sure if he had the balls for the Prem.

2 same deal with Dembele, such talent but so frustrating but now he looks amazing.

3 Rose, going back to AVB times he was the weak link but my god is he good now.

Wanted FDB. Thought poch would be a flash In the pan. Wasn't upset who either we got though. I'm a bit more down the middle about managers seeing the amount we have been through in the last umpteen years. But this manager is meeting and surpassing what little expectation I had. I hope he is our Wenger/fergerson. I love we are bringing youth through. Anyone who can do that and still compete near the top of the league. Is all good with me. Carry on sir
