We now seem to have 2 things we've argueably not had for years which the top4 have had:
1.An experienced top quality management and fitness team capeable of high order tactics and decesions.
2.A squad for now AND for the future.

Ok it may be too early to Judge Poyet and Ramos, but I believe that they're a fantastic combination with Poyet being a lively motivator and Ramos the master tactiction if we do indeed keep them for a fair few years then rest assured we'll get the best out of the players we have.

Next point is do we have the players to try and compete with the top4? Answer:after this transfer window-YES i think we do.

Touchwood: We've kept Berbatov and brought in some top class defenders which is what we have been lacking.

Looking at our team for now it is very very strong assuming they stay fit, then looking at our back-up11 we finally have groomed a back-up11 of young talented INTERNATIONALS!

best 11:

Cerny

Hutton Woodgate King Bale

Lennon Tainio Jenas Malbranque

Berbatov Keane

As well as adaquate back-ups in all areas now :) Only weaknesses are possibly GK and DM but they're still both top class players.

Future 11:

Alnwick

Gunter kaboul Dawson Bale

Taarabt Huddlestone O'Hara Rose??

Dixon Pekhart

Add to this alot of quality players who can't even get in our 1st 11 such as:
Robinson
Lee.Y.P
Chimbonda
Gardener
Rocha
Zokora
Boetang
Bent
Defoe

When i look at all that assuming we somehow keep Berbatov for another season and with him I believe we would win things, and that King,Bale,Woodgate etc manage to stay fairly fit, I think our future looks very bright :)

I see this argument coming up time and time again, on paper it looks like we need some more creativity, but on the pitch we create loads of chances.

Think it's the memories of Gascoigne and Ginola dribbling round people and spraying throughballs around. We don't have that any more. But that doesn't mean we haven't got a different kind of creativity.

It's looking very good on paper. However I think we still need 3 more world class buys and then we're in business to chalenege top 4!

A new Goalkeeper, new Mdifielder and a new Left Winger. I know Steeeeeed is top banana and Ramos seems to be getting the best from him but there are far better natural left wingers out there who can whip in good balls and go past people.

GK:
???
LB: Bale
CB: King
CB: Woodgate
RB: Hutton
LM: ???
CM: Jenas
CM: ???
RM: Lennon
FW: Keane
FW: Berbatov

Fill those 3 spaces with realitstic targets if you can :)

if we could have signed tiago and if we do sign gilberto as reported then we would have a top 4 first eleven.

GK - Robbo/Cerny
LB - Bale
RB - Hutton
CB - King
CB - Woodgate
RW - Lennon
LW - Gilberto
MC - Tiago
MC - Jenas
FC - Berba
FC - Keano

I have no problem sticking with Cerny with Robbo a back up. Who else of that calibre would be available?

Bale is a better LM than defender and also IMO Lee is better defender than Bale.

Therefore for LM I would have Bale and Lee left back (The few times they have played on the left together, they were awesome).

CM Teemo is the best of an ordinary set of holding midlfielders at our disposal, so I would play him that role

Cerny

Hutton Woody King Lee

Lennon Jenas Teemo Bale

Berbatov Keane

Still think we are going to have to get a D.M. in the summer, then we can look forward to competing with the top four again.

Lee has NEVER convinced me in the left back position and although what you offer would work ok as an imediate solution, we can surely do better then LYP at left back. Maybe if/when Gilberto signs he can make that position solid again although as I understand it, he's more in the Bale mould.

I do agree however that Bale could certainly do the Left Wing postion and do it well

I don't think the AM role (or that we don't have enough CM that are good enough going forward) is that much of a problem, as we are IMO brilliant in attack. We've scored the most goals in the league if you take out Arsenal and ManU and we're still only three or four goals behind them...I think. Both Berba and Keano come deep and both very intelligent players...and they create a lot of chances. Not that I don't think we need better attacking midfielders. Jenas is good, but too inconsistent and we can't rely on him only. The problem in midfield is we are getting bossed around in too many games.

So at the moment, we really need to buy a new DM and a goalkeeper. Tainio and Cerny have done well but would never play for a top-four side. Those two positions will probably be worked on in the summer.

We need a left sided player. I love Malbranque and I don't want him to go anywhere, but we need more width on the left. Bale and Gilberto down the left in whichever order next year sounds nice though.

I agree with whoever said Bale should get a look at LM, especially if Gilberto pans out. Lennon is quality on the right. This summer we need to buy at least one top-class CM to fill out the midfield. I suspect we're going looking for a new keeper, too. We're set at striker.

Im very impressed by the way the club addressed the defensive woes in the January transfer window - with 4 signings including 3 very good, established players.

I would avoid Ferguson. Better off sticking with Teemu than getting him.

Maybe now that Defoe has gone O'Hara, KBP or Taarabt might make your bench?

We all count on Bale being the player he was earlier this season, but this is a long injury lay off to come back from for a young player. Having said that, he was good enough that already that missing some development time won't cost us massively.
