Ten years ago this week, we lost to Derby County 2-1, with this team:

Sullivan, Doherty, Young, Thelwell, Campbell, King, Freund, Sherwood, Ferdinand, Booth,Clemence.

Fast forward a decade and we head into a second leg Champions League knockout game with AC Milan, with a team that everybody fears!

Gomes, Corluka, King, Gallas, BAE, Lennon, Modric, Sandro, Bale, VDV, Crouch.

Spurs

I remember 10 - 15 years ago watching us play, what a dark time that was for us...

Looking at our squad now compared to them I really think Levy should be knighted for his good work

Absolutely, the '90s were such dark dark days, especially after watcching us in the '80s winning FA cups and UEFA cups and getting very close in the league in '87.

These times are made all the more special remembering those days of the '90s.

How poor we were in the late 90s is the reason why I love Ginola so much, Our shinning light during dark dark times

And I started supporting spurs in the late 80s early 90s...

Ohh the irony of falling in love with the right football team lol...

Been better years lately though :)

Don't forget we won, 2 cups in the 90's and also had Ginola & Jurgen. A few highs inbetween the many lows !

Oh god, I was at that Derby game. Thelwell had a 'mare and was replaced at half-time by Anthony Gardner (who was excellent). Our goal was a fantastic diving header by... Taribo West.

Of that team there's seriously only one player who you think would get into our side now (aside from Ledley who clearly would) and that's Campbell.

Yeah but Levy's only in it for the money and exploiting the gullible fans who believe his lies.

I wonder what happened to some of those player. Is Ginger Pele still in the game.

The squad from 10years ago may look like dross compared to today's but they still did their bit fo us.

Although I agree, Huddlestone must still be above Sandro in the pecking order? Not sure Gallas is better the Dawson either...

Levy had a four year plan that took him 9 years. He has achieved it without the use of millions of debt.
He has traded players, he has turned over managers, he has threatened to leave WHL.

When a businessman sets out a plan even if it takes twice as long to achieve . I do not care. The fact is today,, tonight we are there and if it ended here we are far better off than back then
Well done Danny boy

okay player by player.

Sullivan: after chelsea went to Leeds for a few seasons, before being released in 2007, went on to make over 107 caps at Doncaster. Still going strong at 41

Doherty: Went to Norwich where he experienced relegation twice, but still won 3 player of the season awards, left to Charlton after being released, where he still plays

Young: Played for Boro and Charlton before joining Aston Villa. Recently he has had injury problems where Kyle Walker has replaced him, also made 7 England Caps

Thelwell: Injuries have blighted the carrier of this not particularly talented prospect. Left for Hull in 2003 before having a successfull spell at Orient, being made captain in 07-08 season. Released in2009 he struggled to find a team, before slipping into the wilderness of non-league football. Currently listed as a Kettering town player, but is rarely played.

Campbell: JUDAS!

King: Still playing for spurs..when fit

Freund: Retired a year after leaving Spurs. He has now gone into coaching. First as assistent manager for Nigeria National team in the reign of Berti Vogts, before becoming manager of Germanys U16

Sherwood: After Spurs went on to Portsmouth then Covertry. He then became a pundit before joining the Redknapp set up.

Ferdinhand: Went on to play for half the clubs in England for a season or less before becoming a pundit for the bbc. Now back at Spurs training strikers to be profilic as he was at Spurs

Booth: Returned to Huddersfield and made 270 more caps, was still playing until 2009

Clemence: In 2003 became an important part of Birmingham City winning player of the Season in 06-07 season, he then left for Leicester where injuries got the better of him and retired last season. At the start of this season he was hired as a Development coach at Sunderland
