What is the big thing that most Spurs fan love about this guy so much (?)
this isn't me slagging him off! he's looked 'Okay' against weak sides in the europa
so i'm scratching my head and thinking of Good things to say about him,

- he can play little triangles and nice passing against poor teams
- that he's young, with alot of (un-seen) potential (?)
- he scored/dived in homage to a past-great (?)
- he's a utility player (?)

he was totally anonymous and found out against city. AVB had to withdraw him at halftime,
for his own sake. :poop:

So what's the big deal about Holtby ????
I'm not a big fan and he shouldn't start big games like City,
I wouldn't be in the least bit saddened if i never saw him in a Spurs shirt again.

He needs to play in a confident side that can pass the ball and has intelligent movement. Modric would look WANK in our side at the moment

He was comfortable (and productive) playing as a No. 10 at Schalke but it isn't working for him here, the system (for the benefit of the team) needs to change.

well the team was somewhat 'built around' him today and he looked awful, can you deny that ?

He didn't have a great game, but neither did a lot of our players, if you saw him play in Germany then you should know he is a decent player, something is not right within the system, and clearly we aren't getting the best out of him, starting a thread negging him is not constructive at all.

are you actually stupid. do you think lamela was suppoesed to be playing on holtby's back pocket? maybe if the team had a decent attacking structure good players like holtby would not look like running turds. lamela has all the potential in the world but he's an idiot being coached by older idiots.

I don't know what it is either, he did very little last season and has continued. He is worth what we paid for him though. Which is more than can be said for some of them!

Like all of our midfielders at the moment - does nothing. Doesnt score, doesnt create, just passes the ball about alot.

How many players do we have to do that for?

He's a central midfielder/CAM and spent half of last season Left wing. Miles out of position, especially for a slow, left footed player. Stick Rafa there and see how he gets on.

He is a player who performs when he has high possession, not the type who makes a one off impact then dissapears again. We have nobody for him to pass with and link with. Literally nobody. We have 2 DM's who are limited passing and movement wise, then usually two average wingers who either don't pass or are too slow, he would struggle with either of those situations, never mind both.

Write Holtby off if you want, he will come good, not under AVB but under a manager who knows how to use him either with us or elsewhere, the guy has a lot of talent and a good footballing brain, you only have to watch him consistently covering for whichever CM we play alongside Sandro to see that.
