Would be hard to imagine him not being in AP’s thought process.

Unsure on Visa issues though
I haven’t seen him so can’t comment on him but I struggle to see us bringing in a 17 year old from Australia as a primary addition for the first team regardless how well he’s rated. May as well bring in Arda Güler for €17 mil who’s a year older, also incredibly highly rated and already has European experience. I’d personally expect whoever we look at to be at least in their 20’s.

Perhaps leaning on D1's info of £15-£20m gems and Trix's (perhaps) cryptic of much farther away I wonder if it's someone like Keito Nakamura of LASK.

22, LWF and very direct - quite Muller-esque or, for want of a better and relevant comparison, Barnes-esque.

Think Liverpool and Dortmund were sniffing around but might well fit the bill of what we/Ange is looking for - plus the obvious caveat of knowing the Asian market well.
My guess was Kang Seung-Jin, 20 year old LW for FC Seoul.
We were linked two weeks ago.

Would like us adopting a two tier approach again with quality youth prospects brought in alongside your bona-fide first team upgrades like Maddison though.

Güler would be a lovely addition but then you also wonder how Gil will fare under Ange’s watchful eye too.

Safe to say there’s a lot going on right now at Tottenham!

Irankunda is just 17, but his physic and position he play makes me think he's someone that can come in and play senior football immediately. Any truth in Bayern move or is he still available?

Still up for grabs, mate, as far as I know.

Still available. But still only played a total of about 800 mins in 30 appearances in the A League this season, which is what? About 7 total 90s. What's promising is in that time he has 8 goals and 2 assists which is pretty insane. Obviously if Bayern are sniffing around there's some real talent there too. I just wonder if it's still a bit of "too soon" but who knows!

There's no real advanced A-League stats that I can find, but it looks like with his pace and power he can beat a man 1 v 1. I wrote elsewhere it seems that will be one important indicator that Ange will target for wingers. For example, Solomon (linked with) has almost 3 successful 1 v 1 take ons per 90, which ranks him near the top of all tracked wingers.

Barnes is lower at around or just under 1 per match, which isn't very impressive, and ranks in the 15th percentile against all wingers. I think Barnes plays similarly to Sonny IMO. He's a good ball carrier, plays intricate passes and link ups just outside and in the box, and is an above average finisher.

Irankunda isn't allowed to move to Europe before he's 18, so won't be coming this season.

I turned his youtube highlight video off halfway through, looked incredibly raw to me and miles away from a first team spot , in fact imo he wouldn't make the matchday squad at present, but clearly can see the potential and at the price we could easily afford to buy him now and send him on loan for a couple of seasons.

Is that play for or sign for a European club ? If it's the latter then we have to wait a year which could mean he's well on the radar of everybody else in Europe

Anyway this is the Barnes thread so will leave it there

Sign for, but there are exceptions including the parents moving to the country for matters unrelated to football, so in essence I was wrong as I'm sure it's fairly easy for wealthy football clubs to sort something

Looks like Newcastle are getting him

That's a perfectly fine, solid squad signing for them. Comfortably get 10-15 league goals for them next season, I imagine.

Does make you wonder why they didn't go harder for Maddison if they're willing to pay 40m for Barnes, though? Is LW more of a high priority position for them?

I hope that means they don’t go for Chiesa.
Worryingly there was a piece in The Athletic that said they purposely leaked the Barella interest to The Telegraph so they could swoop in for Tonali instead. With the news of Barnes breaking in The Telegraph and news of Chiesa's agent flying to the UK I wouldn't be shocked if he ends up there.
