I wonder where Kane is mentally in regards to everything. He certainly doesn’t sounds as enthused about a move as he did earlier.
I don’t think he ever saw Bayern as his dream destination - he was open to it and would have agreed to it if a fee was agreed. He was also open to the idea of letting his contract run down and assess his options next summer when it will be entirely his decision and he’ll have more options.

I think that distinction over Kane agreeing to the move and really wanting it is where Bayern overestimated their leverage.

I agree with the sentiment, and I intend to enjoy the season as soon as it kicks off. But we've been here so many times as Spurs fans. We've experienced so many false dawns.

We've been aboard the Ramos train, the AVB train, the Mourinho train, the Conte train. We've seen the same story so many times. A great, exciting start under a new manager who promises to usher in a new era of success at the club before the wheels quickly fall off in the second season.

Hopefully, things will be different under Ange, but losing Kane on a free after one season will complicate things, to put it mildly.
It will mate but alot can happen in a year and I still think he 'll go next season but him on a free opens up Madrid and Barca so it's not definite that he will join another English club.
Get a final good season out of him with 25+ league goals will really help settle Ange into job while helping us finish higher up league then we would without him even with 90m+ in back pocket.

I'm not saying him staying isn't without downsides but for me it's a much better outcome him staying then going

We do seem to have hit a perfect storm of reasons against this move now happening:

BM acting too late (if they’d started conversations as soon as the season ended, the imminence of the new season would not have been so relevant as we would have had more time to get in replacements), Mrs Kane about to drop, Kyle Walker doing a u-turn, 2 positive pre-season games and the excitement of our attacking play. Even Maddison being a new golf partner!

media don't want him at spurs so this season will be relentless.

I don't think they care either way. Kane leaving Spurs is a big story; they make their money with big stories. It doesn't matter to them if he plays for Spurs or Bayern or Man U. They're just happy to have a big story to report on and no doubt pleased that the story continues to run on and on.

My United mate still convinced they're going to bid big for him.

Can't see Levy selling him to a PL rival now
They missed their chance. No way will he go this late in the day with the games about to start. If they were serious they could have bid two weeks ago. Utd fans tend to overstate their importance and lack self awareness.

Great a whole season of “where is Kane going at the end of his contract” speculation before, during and after each match. Sure Ange will love that 😑
Over the last few years I've found myself increasingly avoiding the narratives that surround the game these days.
I'll put the match on a minute before kick off, and turn it off the minute it ends, unless we've battered someone and I want to see the goals again. I even put YouTube on for 15 mins at half time.
I love the sport and fucking love spurs, but I find the relentless will he/won't he bullshit soap opera flames that the media love to fan really grating.
You still can't avoid the commentators throwing in their bits throughout the match but it's much more palatable than the endless queue of talking heads predicting doom and gloom.

This still needs adequate closure for me to feel a sense that we can move forward in unison and that would be Kane signing one of the two contracts on the table.

If it's still radio silence then it's completely naive to think this won't have a bearing on our season and Ange's preparations - not to mention the endless speculation and inane questioning at every press conference.

There is another twist coming, I believe.

If I’m right, it’s going to be down to HK to make the final decision.

This is only based on a forthcoming article in the Athletic that I’ve been told about but haven’t seen since I dont subscribe.

As much as my heart wants Kane to stay I can’t help but feel it’s a bad call by Levy to not get this over the line and take the £100 mil.

We’re likely to not get top 4 with Kane and even if we do I doubt that will be enough to make him stay. We’ll have to deal with the “where is Kane going next season” bollocks all season now which will be a distraction and a hinderence to Ange’s rebuild, we’ll obviously have £100m less money to reinvest and people will use this an excuse to have a meltdown at the slightest downturn of results. Plus the obvious of now the likelihood being that we’ll see him see out his career at a rival. Great. I just hope that behind the scenes it at least seems a bit more likely he signs a new deal but it doesn’t seem that way so can’t lie a bit bummed by this. Hopefully we can have a title push as that might be the only thing that convinces him to sign but who really thinks a title push is on the cards?

Nice, we can finally start looking at the Season ahead with a Ludicrous amount of Optimism, ( well a month or so )
