If we know BM won't get near the asking price, end this bullshit and move on. We keep dithering away ffs, and the season starts in less than two weeks!

So we get to keep a unhappy kane Lose his for nothing next summer and go into the new season with dier Davies and tanganga as defensive options . Bloody brilliant!!

Us buying a competent defender should not rely on Kane going. It simply shouldn't. Poor excuse and simply negligence if that's the case.

They have paid more than double we have on agent fees.

probably been covered as I’m on catch up but there’s a reason liverpools net spend in the last 5 has been lower than ours. It’s cos in the years before that they spent an absolute shitload on exactly what they needed so they wouldn’t have to spend heavily for the next 5 years. Bloody obvious strategy followed by everyone bar nic nack.

Except that operating profit ignores player sales/acquisitions ...which is the issue right now.

ETA - and our net cash flow from the last two years is ~(- £97M), which is offset nicely by ENIC injecting £97.5M into the club...
How much depreciation is recorded annually for the stadium and training ground? (Sorry if off topic) Better yet... where does one find the financials for the club?

So where does that leave our incoming business?

If we're waiting for this to conclude before pulling the trigger on incomings that's just so disappointing again from the Club.

I'm all for standing firm and not being bullied but why are we not pushing forward with addressing the weakest area of the squad, irrespective?

No choice but to conclude that Kane's sale is linked to the quality of CB we bring in 😪

we all know what it means, no new cb & lenglet on loan.

Man I hope we meet in the middle somewhere and get this done quick - yet another year of him dithering around, not committing to the club, causing loads of destabilising speculation and then walking for free to another PL club at the end of the season anyway is something we just don't need.

i Hope H stays - he has dragged this team forwards for years - if he goes i think i might cry - i know what it sounds like but unlike Modric and Bale he never felt like he was just passing through - Kane has been so let down by our great leader Daniel - a once in a life time talent (for us) and completely wasted because of our incompetent recruitment policy

All clubs had covid losses. Eg. Arsenal and they’re still spending. Man Utd lost loads too. Still spending. We can spend hundreds of millions and still be within ffp but we chose not to. It’s how the club operates. How can people still not see this yet make excuses instead?
I am not excusing Levy's financial policies - they are what they are. I think he could take more risk than he does - but he does what he thinks is financially prudent, and is not going to change now. He took a bit of risk last summer, by going to ENIC/Lewis to get an additional £100M - and it bit him in the arse when we finished 8th.

But, expecting him to pony up another £80m in sales, AND keep Kane is just not realistic. I don't care what other clubs are spending. Until you change owners - who are willing to put more money into the club - this is who we are.

It would be incompetent to let him leave for free - it’s time to love on

Well maybe he should have ponied up for the one position that has need addressing for multiple years. Instead of waiting to sell our generational talent to get a CB. The priorities are all wrong.

I can tell by the reactions that people find this amusing.

But, it is also reality. Those expenses were not on our books until this summer.

Its also reality that for the last 3 seasons combined, the club have reported a combined loss of ~£209M.

That is the world in which we live - not the fantasy world of being able to spend unlimited sums of money when the mood strikes.
Surely that then means that we didn't spend the money, or account for it in the windows that we got said players in?
Meaning that we spent nothing in January.

Does that money just disappear after the window closes or is it possible that the budget will be worked out accordingly, with monies pigeonholed or moved forward as required?

None of us know how the whole football finance things works but if for example, a club of our size budgets 100m per window and we don't spend that, surely it can roll over to the next budget?

Maybe some of that missing 50m from the share option can go towards them?

Fucked if I know the answers, to be honest but I don't think we can include either Porro or Kulu in this window's incomings.

I could not agree more.

But, at the same time - we are where we are.

And we should have a DOF who has been working the phones trying to shift deadwood all summer - so even a small amount of money coming in could be used now. Its frustrating to see players headed to Saudi for big fees while we can't shift anyone for more than £10M

Big concern - I totally Understand that Bayern shouldn't be allowed to get away with undervaluing Kane but at the same time, it feels like if we keep Kane and done invest as a result, we are only kicking the can down the road and undermining Ange.

I’d still keep him for another year and lose him for free next summer. It’s not my money, and the club would only spunk that away on shit we don’t want anyway.
