Personally hoping our price is much higher than Bayern will pay. Has to be over £100m, I'd imagine Levy will want more than the Rice fee...

Still can’t get my head around a departure this summer, doesn’t seem to make sense for anyone.

If he just hangs on for 6 more months, he can talk to Bayern about a pre-contract, which I am sure would divert a significant portion of any fee they would have given to us directly to him/Charlie… really weird

We're effectively dropping Dier (or a CCB).

So, we are not dropping goal involvement.
It's impossible to say just how those two will adapt and fit into what we are going to do.

It's always been this simple for me. If Ange wants to go another way I'm absolutely fine with it. I've always been of the opinion the manager has to be backed to the upmost power the club can give, and if that means Kane going so be it, but I'm under no illusion Kane can not be replaced with 2-3 or even 4 players if they don't come from that elite player bracket. That 5% extra those players give are just not replaceable. that doesn't mean you can build an effective unit capable of winning things but it's certainly easier to build a unit with those players still in it.

I just don't see how this works for him. If he leaves for Bayern in the summer it will likely be on a 3/4 year deal, potentially scuppering his chances of the premier league record which is clearly one of his targets.
Even if he managed to secure a return to the PL in 2 years time would he still be the same player banging in 25 goals a season to still reach Shearer?

I guess it comes down to what's more important to him, almost guaranteed silverware in the Bundesliga with the chance of a CL run or realistically getting the PL record in 2-3 years time?

If I was him, I'd do the final year with us, add on 20+ goals to the tally and see where we are at the end of the season. If we aren't progressing then go to a domestic rival and fight for trophies while racking up the goals.

I do think it makes sense for Bayern though. As a free agent Kane would get offers from all the top clubs and it would be stiff competition for his signature. Bayern probably know they are a step below City or Real Madrid when push comes to show.

But I don’t understand it from Kane’s POV. If he waits 6 months he can have his pick of club.

But it cuts both ways. Maddison and Richarlison could improve our output by outperforming expectations. And, we could still improve our goal differential if we improve our overall defense.

I mean - with Kane scoring 30 goals, we still finished 8th...

Kane is absolutely better than either Maddison or Richarlison. He might be better than both combined. But, we can't keep thinking that Kane can never be replaced. At some point he has to be replaced.

Bale was replaced - and it took a couple of seasons, but we moved on, and got better than the Bale teams.

If Kane has indicated that he will not sign a new deal - the smart move is to sell, outside the league, and move forward.

Of course, but he can do that next year at his pick of clubs while racking up numbers towards the record.

Bayern will still want him next year for 100M less than this year I think.

This is the key thing for me. I don't want him to leave, but I don't think at present he's staying. If he goes its all about using the funds to replace him and as you say that means 2-3 top drawer players.

I don’t believe Kane will sign a new contract with us regardless of what happens this season, bar some totally unrealistic event like us winning the FA cup pushing City for the title this season.

Kane will be 30 next year. It will be his last big contract. He will want guarantees of trophies and playing in the CL for the remainder of his career. There is not a doubt in my mind about that.

If Bayern offer us the magic amount I can’t begrudge Levy for selling Kane. Refusing to sell would only prolong the inevitable outcome.

Kane wanting to go to Bayern doesn't make sense for me. I think it's much more likely he stays, keeps chipping away at the record and then has his pick of premier league clubs next year.

add to that moving his family/being away from them, the potential turnaround under Ange and the Bayern move looks suspect. Harry doesn't think like most players so predicting his path has a fair amount of uncertainty.

So how do we think Donna's going to spin Maddison being given the Number 10 and teaming up with our "record signing" Richarlison?
I've been checking every day to see if Maddison has picked his number yet. Until he does i'm going to feel there is a chance Kane might leave. I can't think of another reason he wouldn't have picked one unless there was a chance the No 10 might become free. I know picking number doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things as it could always be changed but I'm sure the club would like to be getting the money from those shirt sales.

Its not easy to replace a 20 goal a season striker. Utd, Chelsea haven't been able to do it for over 5 years.

However, if he wants to go. Then set a price and a deadline, and just see what happens.

Who, in world football, can replicate HKs goal involvements as consistently? AND....there is even a sniff of a chance we can sign? If the answer is no one, then why want rid of him now?
